my cat chichi potty's in my bathroom sink and tub i clean the litter everyday why does he do it....is it because he is trying to cover the scent of my cat toby cuase when toby was sick he peed in the sink and tub?

I think the reason you stated is probably correct. I don't how to stop the problem.

| 1) Keep the bathroom door shut. if that doesn't work..... 2) Pour some bleach in the sink and tub and let it sit for a bit (don't let kitty in there when you do this). Then rinse - should take smell away. if that doesn't work...... 3) Last but not least, buy some "cat off" repellant spray from the pet store and spray it in your sink and tub. Myself, I would keep the door shut and as time goes by, kitty will forget about peeing there. PS: make sure kitty isn't sick and trying to tell you something.

| I have a cat that peed in the sink. I tried to keep her from doing it by puting cat-offensive smells in the sink, but she was so determined that I gave up and just keep the bathroom door closed. If your stoppers for the sink and tub work well, you could try leaving a few inches of water in the sink and tub for a while until your cat gets out of the habit. You could also try putting oil of rodemary or citrus in the sink and tub to keep the cat out - this worked for a while with my cat but as soon as it didn't smel so strongly, she did it again.
So many cats...

| Doesn't adding bleach to the ammonia created by cat pee create toxic fumes? Or is that just the litter? I heard of a woman once who used bleach to clean her litterbox, and when the bleach mixed with the ammonia from the urine, it created toxic fumes and the woman passed out! I just don't want anyone doing anything that would be harmful! Also, if you do find something that will help taking the urine out, you might want to turn on the exhaust fan if you have one in your bathroom. I know some cleaners can create fumes, especially when you're in an enclosed space. (I speak from experience, having used bleach once in an enclosed bathroom without the fan on. When I was finished cleaning, I felt pretty lightheaded.) Would Urine Gone or Nature's Miracle work on a tub and sink? Hope you find a solution to your problem. Nicky's Mom

| As long as you clean the urine with soap and water first I don't see why bleach would cause any toxic fumes. I have used bleach before to clean such a mess. I had a cat that would occasionally pee on the drain in the bath tub. I'm not sure why she did it. Maybe your cat does not like the litter you are using or the location of the litter box. Try changing some things up to see what helps. Good luck.
