I am looking at adopting a 2 year old kitty from our local animal Shelter. The kitty has no history and at this time is not neutered. He will be neutered before he leaves the pound. If I adopt I am nervous about the fact that the sooner you get a kitty neutered the better as far as spraying and other issues such as attitude etc. I've had two boy kittys and have had them fixed asap so I have never had a problem. I know I cannot be guaranteed, but is there any hope that one fixed this kitty won't spray? Thanks!

Rest asure its NOT the norm to spray with a neutered male.  The chances are in favor of him not doing it   Even ex-breeidng cats don't usually spray after being neutered.

So go ahead and adopt him and I'm sure things will work out.

I'm sure he has had his fun! Just the way they brought him in, with a pregnant female. he had on a standard flea collar, no microchip and not neutered. To me that's a major responsibility when you bring in a pet into your life ... get it fixed asap. Thanks for the support.
