Even if cats don't understand words they know body language perfectly. Say, you hurt me, in a voice full of hurt, then walk away. Let her know she hurt you and won't be getting attention because of it! When she comes to you nicely praise her, give treats. If she wasn't understanding that she was hurting you, this will teach her; if she was seeking attention teach her what works and that biting doesn't!!

Since this is a new behavior it wouldn't hurt to take her to the vet and get her teeth checked out. It would be a very creative way of letting you know she hurts! Who knows, cats can find their own ways of comunicating!

Extreme Love Bites

Millie, my oldest cat, has been going a bit extreme with her "love" bites lately. She has started really biting me--and it hurts! Before this started, she would give me small nips to get me to move my arm, or if she was being petted. Now she will come up to my legs, and bite them--hard. I know I shouldn't react, but I can't help it...I usually jump back. I think it has turned into a game for her...how do I get her to understand that I don't like it?

This only happens when she is apart from the other two cats. When she's with them, she is her normal self. Any ideas?
