Once when they were kittens, they did something to their paws (I can't remember what). I was only there one day when most of them were over it. Grandma said that they would just cry and cry at her, and she would massage their paws. Call around to vets in your area explain that you can't pay them right now, but you'd like to work out a payment arrangement, because your cats are sick. by and large they remember that they became vets to help animals first and because it is a lucrative field second or third. </P><P>You can't let them suffer without trying everything in your power to make them well. This is in your power to make a few phone calls. If you can't find anyone who says bring them in, we'll work something out, then yes an animal shelter is your next option. If you really can't afford it, you should take them to the animal shelter, and they can either cure them or humanely put them to sleep.
