They also said her color is Russian Blue and that she has alot in her, and that shes known as a "Boneless" cat. I've looked at all sorts of pictures of Russian Blues and she seems to have the same attributes, the fur style/color, the foot pad color bein a muave-type. But I'm not sure, when I looked up Chartreux, the eyes matched her as well, here are a couple of pictures of her. If anyone can help, that would be great!

What is your favorite breed?

Vote here for your favorite cat breed! I haven't been able to get as much information as I would like about their teperament and personalities. I'm specially interested in knowing if it would be a good companion for our Ragdoll Luka, who is our very spoiled baby that we love. Ragdolls are very loving and laid back, very sweet, not as agile....I'm not sure if they could make good friends.
Any Bengal or savannah owners that can help me out there?

Thanks,

I'm sorry, I'm new at this, and I think I posted the same question somewhere else.

Ragdoll?

Hi! It isn't severe where he can't breathe, but he gets itchy eyes and nose. I have heard that Siberians are a good choice for our situation. I have only ever adopted from a shelter when I was growing up, so getting from a breeder would be a new experience. Are there any reputable breeders in Wisconsin or Michigan that sell Siberian kittens? We can't afford a lot of money for the kitten, about $250-500 is our price range, though $500 is on the high end for us. Also, I know it will spark debate, but we would like to declaw since she would only be an indoor kitty. I know a lot of people have called it cruel, but I have had two cats in 21 years and have declawed them both and have lived long, happy, pampered lives. One breeders website (we would have considered getting from her but she was too far) said that they discourage it but would rather have that than homeless kitties and in my case we can't get one unless it is declawed. I would try to find a vet that did laser surgery instead of with the scalpel. Anyway, the kitty would have a very loving home with my husband and I. We both love cats and I would pamper and spoil her! I hope we can find one.

There is a Ragdoll breeder locally, but I am guessing that wouldn't help with the allergies, right?

Hypo-allergenic breeds

My Husband has allergies and we both would really like to have a cat (or maybe two) in our home. I know that the Devon Rex and Cornish Rex are better for people with allergies, but I will be quite honest, I like the more cuddly, furrier cats (I have always had a tabby, love the coat and features). My Husband and I were watching Animal Planet last night, Cats 101, and they were talking about the Oriental breed, which I think rank in cuteness factor with the Devon and Cornish (no offense to anyone who has one. I just like the more rounder face and features). I tried to look online for breeders of the Oriental and couldn't find prices. That is a major factor. I found a breeder with beautiful Siberian kittens (Gorgeous!!!) but they are $800 and that is not in our price range right now. Are there any other breeds that are similar to the Siberians or Tabbys in look that are good for allergy sufferers, aka hypo allergenic?

plants/cats

I see your point. She is the oldest. I got her when I was 8, and I'm 18 now. So, she's 10!
Lexy is very loving. When she was younger she would jump up on anybody's lap when they came over. After we got dogs around 7 years ago, she stopped this practice and started to become more conservative. Nowadays she stays in my room all the time (I have a pretty big attic room). But, she is still extremely loving to me! She will meow nonstop when I get home until I pet her. She is always on my lap, and loves it when I pay attention to her. If my friends are over, Lexy will find a place in my room, such as my closet or under my futon, and just hang out until they leave. Sometimes she will come out and hang out with us, but not often. She also really likes plants. During the summer she likes to go out in my back yard and just sit in the grass, but only when my dog is going for a walk.

I'm thinking either a Chartreux, Korat, or American Shorthair. I have no experience in cat breeds, though, so I could be ENTIRELY wrong.

Here are a few photos of her.
Pic 1
Pic 2

Now, J.J.
I got J.J. right around the time of my 9th birthday. He was outside, a very young kitten, and I had my friend catch him for me. As J.J. grew up, he wouldn't let anyone pet him but me. He was anti social, but loosened up when I was around. Nowadays, J.J. is a bit more social than Lexy. He spends more of his time downstairs. J.J. isn't really afraid of Zoey (my dog), and I think they secretly like each other. The only times I see J.J. is when I am eating (he loves to beg), when he is eating or sleeping in my room, or when he is thirsty. When J.J. is thirsty, he will stand by the bathroom door and meow. He wants his water ice-cold, straight from the tap! He will put his head under the stream and drink the water as it rolls off of his head. He has tried multiple different ways: Licking the falling stream from the bathtub, licking the water that hits the drain in the bathtub, licking the falling stream from the sink, and he has come to the conclusion that he prefers letting it hit his head and having it roll off onto the side of the sink where he laps it up!
J.J. likes being held like a baby, and does enjoy being pet by more people than just myself now. He also likes to sneak outside when I get the mail, and just sit on the porch.

Here are a few photos:
Pic 1
Pic 2
Pic 3
Pic 4

Well, hopefully you guys can help me identify their breeds.
THANKS!

What kind of cat should I get... what kind do you have?

Okay, let me introduce myself!

I am a very responsible teenage girl looking for a new kitten! My dad is the <STRIKE>problem</STRIKE> person who is debating with me why I should or should not get one. He is debating over if my brother will torture (or be tortured) by the little cat.

But... there is more. My grandmother has a cat and my brother is very gentle, careful and loving toward the cat. She used to run but now she <STRIKE>likes</STRIKE> stays when my brother comes (she really isn't very fond of visitors so...).

But of course a kitten would be different. A little more frantic, and smaller, so she would be more afraid of my bro. So some tips one getting them along, showing my bro how to play with a kitten and how to tell him when not to play with the cat.

Then we have a really old, slow, small/medium dog that really just lays there unless she poops or eats. *zzzz* of course I love her, just I am a total cat person.(You all should know!)

So what kind of breed of cat would be appropriate for my lifestyle?

Climates and cats

I know that wild cats live in climates that they are most comfortable in (longhaired in colder climates and shorthaired in warmer climates) but when choosing a cat for your pet does it matter what climate you live in if it will be an outdoor cat?

Ragdoll v. I've seen tons of cat channel profiles and some people list their cats as Americans, when they really don't look any different than a domestic, there doesn't seem to be any distinguishing feature whatsoever. I'm not a cat breed expert though, so by all means correct me

Doll faced Persians

I check up on a website called Cozy Kittens Cattery that breeds doll faced persians. I never really gave much though to what breed he is until now, I know he's not a pure breed but Im curious to hear others opinions.

He's completely grey, and his fur is thick but short. Eyes are yellow most of the time, he's bigger than the average cat, with a stocky build.

personality wise he is lazy, quiet (unless its dinner time) and keeps to himself though is still affectionate. he likes to be petted and scratched, but not held. He doesn't like sitting on peoples laps, but likes being near you. For example if you leave a room he will follow you, and make himself comfortable a few metres away.

he's cautiously friendly to strangers. He is not aggressive but will half-heartedly swipe at you if you annoy him and nips my feet sometimes for fun.

My vet thinks he could be British short hair, but he's face isn't as flat as those guys. anyway I've uploaded some photos for people to assess. He has a wedge-shaped head, enormous almond eyes, big ears, big nose..long legs, kind of bowed looking, and very short, neat fur (no undercoat at all). His markings are stripes on top and spots on his tummy, and in between the stripes he's golden brown. He also has a different meow from our other cats; he's very friendly and talkative.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what he might have in his background?

What kind of Kitten

This isn't a picture of my kitten because I don't have any yet but she looks exactly like this kitten I know some about cat breeds but I don't exactly know what my kitten is I just want to know. I find the cats to be amazingly odd. I mean they are cute and unique. I have two cats right now. One is just a mixed breed shorthair and the other is mixed breed longhair. I love them to death and would do anything and everything for them. I'm thinking about a hairless cat but I can't find much info on there temperment and how they deal with other cats. Also since this cat is hairless is there more expenses that go into the cat instead of other cats, i.e. grooming, vet bills, special diets? Any info will be great as it's just something I'm beginning to look into.

I am concerned for my friend.

They are planning just to go to a shelter and pick a breed. They are kinda the upper-middle class and have no pets so it seems they don't understand what mess is at least when I go to there house that's the impression (exception is my friend's room) my friend is a mess. Now he wants to by his parents a cat for his mom's birthday and I am not sure his parents even want a pet. Now he is in love with MY cats. And i have been trying to tell him that not all cats are like mine and not all cats should be played with roughly. (for some reason guessing because he is a boy he loves roughing up our feral cat Snapple. One time she scratched him and I just laughed and said see?) So anyways, I don't think he has the fundamentals of taking care of a cat. It seems they think it's all play and no work. I am actually afraid for what cat they get. Is there something i can tell me thick headed friend to get it to him that is like caring for a child? As well as if they do decided to get a cat is there advice I can give him for what cat to get? (I am planning on going with him I am afraid he is just going to get a kitten cause it's so cute and then not care for it when it's older.)

What's your cat's favorite cat toy?

There's a lot of cat toys your cat likes.Which is his favorite?

Trying to figure out what breed my 2 cats are?

The first, her name is Fluffy (short for, Mrs. Fluffybutt). For originality, i threw an I on the end. I've been told his eyes look siamese, and he is extremely muscular for a house cat. His face is full of expression, and after 2 years I can always tell what he's thinking just by looking at his face. I'd like to know if it is possible he is part siamese, or other type of exotic cat. It is hard to tell, I know, from these pictures, mostly because he squints when the flash goes off. Usually, his eyes are huge, wide and liquid.

here he is hugging a friend.

oh yeah - and here's another funny one just for kicks.

any info you can give will be helpful. I have some cat allergies but my sister has it worse so it is very difficult to find an agreeable breed.

I have asked people and read threads and I get the same response; unsure, don't know, maybe. I understand that even with shorter haired cats you could still be bothered by their mucous/saliva. I also read that female cats produce less allergens. I'm just getting desperate for answers because this is the only cat with fur I'd be allowed to get. I have been around a Siberian, however, and was not bothered at all by itchiness or having problems with my asthma. It was pretty nice considering it had long hair. I was surprised.
Sadly, I am not allowed a Siberian because my mother is worried about the long hairs/shedding. I turned to Russian Blues. I am okay with their personality, but I have friends in and out of my house and worry about its feelings (if it would be too irritating for this breed).
Then perhaps if I'm worried about it's personality then getting a mixed breed, domestic short hair and a Russian blue, might make chances for finding a kitten and having good traits. My mother is worried about this, too, because she thinks that it will bother everyone's allergies more if it's mixed. I am aware about genes, but I don't want to get my hopes thrown down.

What do you think I should do? Do you know anyone with Russian Blues that have allergies?
I am sorry for rambling. I am distressed about what my options are.
Any help would be appreciated! She looked like a Russian Blue, all gray color, long hair and she had 6 toes on her front paws.
