Plus some persons are allergic to cat's saliva, so hairless cats are not option for them. I had a friend who developed allergy when her male cat turned 7 month old and started to spray, but allergy gone after cat got fixed. The best way to know about allergy- ask dermatologist to have skin tests, to determine the type of allergens. If person is allergic to hair, the opyions are Sphynks, Ukrainian levkoy, Oriental ans Classic Siamese. It depends on the specific person and the specific cat. Mostly what people are allergic to is the dander the cat produces, not the hair, and all cats produce dander.
