My bengals are vocal and very social. They love to sleep with me in the winter and follow me from room to room. They also love to play and they can get pretty crazy running all over the house chasing each other and wrestling.

RE: Looking for a breed.

Any of the Siamese, Oriental, Tonkineses, Rexes, or Ocicats would fit your "ideal cat" - all of the above are talkative, people oriented and most are cuddle cats. Rexes especially love to be lap sitters and undercover cats Ocicats are not too much into lap sitting but would fit the rest

Chatty - you have a brown patched mackeral tabby and a very pretty girl. Whoever told you she was not a tabby, doesn't know cats!

RE: Looking for a breed.

Hi, I have had a stray cat for two years but do not know the breed. I named her Polly. Is there a way online I can find out what breed she is? Not that it matters but I would love to know. I have never owned a cat in my life and know nothing about them. The vet says she's a tabby cat but my neighbor has one and she does not look nothing like a tabby to me. Andy help on this one? Inclosing a picture. Thanks so much.

RE: Looking for a breed.

Sounds to me like you might enjoy a Siamese or an Abysinnian. They're very active and vocal cats who like to attach themselves to one person.

Whatever kind of kitty you end up with, she'll give you lots of love. Enjoy! >*.*<

RE: Looking for a breed.

What you discribe are just what my Cats Burt and Daisy are they are just Mutt cats and the best ones ever you might have the best luck with going to the pound and getting a deserving mutt cat

            I LOVE CATS

RE: Looking for a breed.

The bigger question, usually, is "are your kids good with cats." Not all kids have been taught to be gentle with animals. I would check cat shelters in my area and find one that does not confine the cats to cages and make arrangements to visit. Then, you and the girls could sit in a room with the cats. Very likely, a cat will choose you.

RE: Looking for a breed.

Ragdolls are bred to be docile, they follow you from room to room they have to know what you are doing at all times, bring home a bag from shopping and they are right in it. I have a Seal Point Siamese. Her name is Ming and she is 7 years old. She is my first cat that I own ( I since then "aquired" 2 more). Siamese are pretty much "one" person cats. She is very "talkative". Ming has to be in the same room that I am in pretty much at all times. She likes to be involved in what I am doing. If Im folding laundry--shes laying in the pile of warm unfolded clothes. Making the bed is another chore--especially when she is sprawled out on her back in the middle of it!! She is very affectionate. Shes not too fond of little kids. She tolerates my 3 year old son. As long as I am holding her, she will let him pet her. She sleeps with me everynight. She has to always for some reason, touch me while we are sleeping. If I move my leg over, she will roll over or stretch out more to make contact again. Ming is very friendly. When company comes over, she thinks that they come over to see her. She can always sense the ones who arent "cat" people. She normally forces herself on their lap where she flops down with the look "you are going to pet me!!" When my husband and I get into tickle matches, I will be laughing loudly and she will come up and bite him to get him to stop or she will very gently grab my arm to try and "pull" me away from him. They definately have personalities. Ming is "queen bee" of the other 2 cats....well as a matter of fact, I think of the whole house!! If I happen to be outside, she will sit in the window (if its open) and cry for me to come back in. My cats are strickly indoor cats. She is a very good bug catcher--especially spiders..I HATE SPIDERS! She loves to play fetch. I usually use the rings that come off of the cap of a gallon of milk. I usually wake up with four or five of them in the bed. When I am not holding our other son (hes 9 mos) she thinks that it is her turn to be held. I usually hold her on her back in my arms like a baby. She will sleep like that for hours if I let her. Sometimes I think that she has an identity crisis. I enjoy her very much and I think that you would enjoy one too! One thing, when she was a kitten before she was spayed, she was so "whiny", but she out grew that in about a year. Its been 2 years now that she hasnt climbed the Christmas tree. She usually comes and "tattles" on my other cats who are younger than her that still do. She will wake me up at 2 a.m. for me to follow her into the livingroom where Mia is usually the one at the top of the tree. I hope I helped you in your decision!! Take care, and good luck!

Looking for a breed.

I love cats but I'm not that experienced. I know they all have different personalitys but I'm looking for a breed that seems more for me. I like cats that talk and like to tell you of the day they had while you were at work, and will listen when you tell them off your day. Sometimes lap cats but most of the time will like to follow you and be involved in what you are doing. Can be calm and independant, and will like to snuggle with you when the sun is down and the night is cold. And, though he or she loves everyone, the cat loves to spend time with one specific person to bound with.

I know, I demand a lot Lol!
