Once she goes into heat again (unless you've already spayed her), she will start to ignore her kittens. If shes spayed, she may always be protactive of them. You may want to consider finding homes for her kittens, so they can "grow up" and learn to fend for themselves. I think your picture is so cute! I have loads of picts of our mommas and babies that I wish I knew how to post! I could use some help on how to post picts here! LOL

The abyssinians are from Africa, so they aren't oriental.

About the queens, I know ones with very grown children that take care of them if they can (like with 4 years old children). When they have the new litter they use to throw out the older one. But sometimes they don't do that (or they don't have a new litter).

If they aren't spayed she will throw out the females when they turn fertile. And of course, will breed with the males

With the colorful litter, mom is a brown patched tabby. Aby is not an oriental type of cat.

My queens were not protective after 3 months old. Its unusual she's still like this to be protecting kittens that old.

I've never had kittens and a moma before,but I think this may just be instinct.I mean,moms never really stop proctecting,right?

I have a momma cat (DSH with oriental features - maybe abyssinian (is that oriental?)) and 2 of her kittens, along with 7 other cats that live in the same part of the house. The kittens are about 4 months old and momma still supervises them all the time and hisses and swats at the other cats if they get too close to her or the kittens. Is there a point at which she will stop being so protective?
