I have a new kitten who I think is part Main Coon. This little guy loves to churdle. I know that is one of the charateristics of the Main Coon. Are there other cats breeds who chrudle? take a look at this little guy and let me know what you think. Thanks.

                                                                         Starr

RE: i have no clue what breed my cat is...

While its good to adopt from the shelter, its not wrong to want to adopt a specific breed. I've always had both mixed and purebreds and always will. If it were not for some certain breeds (like the rexes), some people would not be able to even own a cat!

RE: i have no clue what breed my cat is...

I agree that a younger cat would definitely be the best choice. You should definitely get your cat from a local shelter, not only is it cheaper in the long run than a "free" kitten (for a small fee the cat is spayed/neutered and has all of its shots) but you're also giving a home to an otherwise unwanted cat. The shelter may have some idea of which cat would be more laid back and willing to submit to your cat. Good luck

RE: i have no clue what breed my cat is...

Females tend to be more territorial and take longer to accept a new cat coming in - especially if its another female. So if you want to get another cat, I suggest a laid back younger male (maybe 6-8 months old and neutered) for your best results.

RE: i have no clue what breed my cat is...

I don't think it matters much what breed but I do think it would be 100% easier for her to accept a kitten then a full grown cat. I wouldn't go for a purebred, there are so many free kittens in the paper and from the shelters. Let us know what you get!

RE: i have no clue what breed my cat is...

Thanks!
