Yesterday I got a call from the lady who adopted Oliver. She unfortunately had to return him because she is in a very bad financial situation. She's had her car repoed and is about 1 1/2 months behind on rent. Her grand parents are her land lords but are not what you would call 'understanding' about her situation. They have threatened to kick her out at the end of December if she can't pay anything by the end of this month.

I told her that I would hold Oliver for 30 days for her. If she wasn't able to get back on track, I would put him up for adoption again. She was so thankful I offerend to keep him for her for a while.

She may have to move in with her mom, who already has 3 cats. She is trying really hard to convince her mom to let her keep her first cat, Stormy, whom her 3 year old son is really attached to. Mom's not sure yet.

Poor Oliver was so upset and confused when he came back. He was whinning and slept by me all night. He's eating okay right now- I will have to keep an eye on that- so we'll see if he gets his appetite back.

So, if you could send up some prayers for Oliver and Stormy's Mommy that way she can get back on her feet and be able to reunite with her kitty again! Thanks!

Hi everyone!I found a stray cat and I have no idea what to do.He is very friendly and we think he might belong to someone tommorow we are going to go put up flyers and ask around if it belongs to anyone.Me and my neighbor have been feeding him and he is so friendly and loves to cuddle!I cant take him in my house because I have Mia and couldnt get to the vet to get him examined.We put a dog igloo outside with a blanket and food and water!What else should I do.Should I try and find him a home if we cant find his owner?Thanks everyone!

We discovered some time ago.....(three cats ago) ....that a wonderful and healthy food for your cat is cantaloupe! My husband had made a fruit bowl for both of us one day for breakfast.and I had put mine on the coffee table. Next thing I knew, my kitty, Ozzie, climbed over there and started picking out the cantaloupe, leaving all of the other fruit. All of our kitties since then relish the treat of cantaloupe with their meals....a healthy treat!!!!!

this is just my observation, but my ginger tabby is also my primary sun worshipper. The only thing he will really fight about is a sunbeam. My other cats not so much. So I was wondering if other people who have light colored cats have noticed this also, that they like the sun more so than darker coated cats?

I've been gone for awhile lost my job back in February and just now getting really serious about looking. I've had a couple interviews, but I need to throw out thanks to whomever it was who on here who first told me about Blue Buffalo.
I was at Petsmart today to pick up my monthly bag of kibble, and the regional and corporate people were there, and I may have just stumbled into a part-time job with Blue Buffalo!

I was at work the other night and a friend and I were showing off pics of our cats to one another. Well, she told me she had a kitten that looked like one of my cats but awhile ago it had been killed. She told me her husband was going to sit down in the rocker recliner and didn't know the ktten was underneath it and the kitten ended up getting killed. It had its neck snapped. I could of threw up I felt so horrible. Total accident but one that alot of us don't think about. My kids and I are always aware that if we sit in the recliner before we put the footrest down to always ask someone if they any one of our cats (we have three) underneath it or to be aware of where the cats are when we rock in it.

I'm sure alot of people are aware of this but pass it on anyways to anyone you know so we can make other aware of it also.

Hoarding Kitten

So, I'm having a Halloween party on the 31st, so I've been cleaning the house in preparation. I've uncovered all (I hope) or Pixie's little stashes.

She had a stash of tissues half shredded in the bottom corner of the office shelf.
Individual white socks in the corner by the hutch
Two full pairs of socks folded together behind the downstairs toilet
And black pens under my side of the bed

I just don't understand this one! It's so hilarious, but it bothers me that I can't figure out why she does it! She has to 'kill' the tissues and socks before she hoards them. WHY? HA!

This past Friday marked a milestone for me and my cat - it was our fifth anniversary together. On Oct. 16, 2004, a big, beautiful Siamese stray I had seen hanging around the apartment complex ran inside my apartment with me when I opened the door coming home. He went right to the fridge and sat down, and all I had to feed him was some lunch meat - he ate the whole pack, poor hungry thing. I left the door open for him to leave whenever he was done, but he just stretched out in the living room watching TV with me, and when bedtime came he still didn't want to leave, so I just closed the door and let him stay. And the rest is history. I'm very lucky he chose me to move in with. He is a wonderful cat, very affectionate and sociable, and I often wonder how he came to be a "street cat."

Here's hoping for many more happy years together!

Here are some pictures of my sister's 7 month old, tomkitten Julio! He's a purebred applehead Siamese, and he's a rare blue lynx color. He's the sweetest cat, and literally will sit on your shoulder like a parrot and purrs constantly! lol He's not "chatty" but he does make soft noises like "mrrphs" and "trills." We all hope to someday raise Siameses. We are all crazy over him! I would recommend a Siamese for anyone who wanted a gorgeous, people friendly, lovable pet.

This is a Siamese mix cat that we had named Cai. He was just as lovable and gorgeous as Julio!

Advice needed - Daughter's puppy coming to visit

Hi everyone!

I would appreciate any suggestions. My cats just adopted me about 3 weeks ago and are adjusting nicely to our home. No big problems at all, they are good girls and calm older girls (around 2 - 3 yrs).

Hopefully I will get some quick feedback since my daughter is bringing her 4 month old puppy here Friday night or Saturday morning when she visits. The puppy was here right before the cats came and had stayed with me for 3 weeks - so her scent has been in the house. I am assuming it would have been around when the girls got here a few days after she left.

Teddy, the cockapoo, is a very small (< 5 lb.) dog who is pretty calm and she does not bark (seriously!!) She is an awesome dog and actually we joked that she had many cat like behaviors.

Anything I can do to help my kitties be ok with the visit?? Obviously I will make her hold Teddy when they arrive and see if there are any problems. I have a large house so we can easily separate them if needed. Just want to minimize the stress on the cats since they are relatively new to their living situation.

All ideas are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

follow the link and see sir noggin. He's a cute tux kitten with a huge cyst between his ear, that was found wandering alone. Normally a cyst wouldnt be a huge issue, but noggin's skull didnt form under the cyst so he needs surgery. The humane society was going to euthanize him.

WE ARE KEEPING PIXIE!!!!!!!

We just got too attached to her with hand raising. She also reminds us so much of Leo, it's really scary sometimes! And she fits in with the rest of our pride fantasticly.

So, your wish came true! Pixie really did find her fur-ever home with us!

Okay, the truth comes out. A lot of those annoying, long posts/sermons I used to write were completely fake, in other words, not really me. Me and my sis (DesertJewel) would post stuff just so we could read all the replies and watch people get hyped up. I don't think I've done anything like that recently (I hope?), but I just want you guys to know what was going on with me back then. LOL I'm not like that AT ALL in real life, If you can believe me. I'm most certainly not outspoken, long winded ect. I'm sure you can't imagine it, but that's my fault for the way I purposely annoyed everyone in the past. Sorry, sorry, sorry!!!!

I do have outdoor cats, I do like tomcats and I have raised litters of kittens and I still have the same opinions on declawing and perm indoor cats, but It was mean of me to try to bug you all with them. Hope everybody can forgive me, I did cause a ruckus around here at times! Okay, its not funny.....

A co-worker of mine is adopting Jem! Yeah! She is a really great person, and I've never seen Jem act that way toward anyone. It's a match made in heaven!

Heather, the lady adopting her, isn't able to take her right away, though. The new house she just bought is under MAJOR construction and is just not safe for kitties. So, she is going to come visit her on Thursdays. Yeah!

some have read my post on wanting a luv bug lap cat type kitten, so I got to thinking,, if there are 2 kittens and one is super layed back and almost comatose to the petting you give him in a good way, and the other is very playful and super friendly,
how would you decide which kitten would be the one to pick? For wanting a lap cat? Im torn, on one hand I would think the more mellow kitten would be the obvious one, because he is mellow, BUT the playful one could be as well because he is more eager to be around the attention.. hmmm what do you think?
