Moderator - methinks some of these miscreants aren't taking you seriously...

I have no cats in my life now - allergies have appeared that prevent me from having delightful feline friends.

If we can remember the dearly departed, then I can say that I've had over 40 furry friends over the years. I grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska, and we always had several "barn cats".

I can probably list most of them:

Little George, Rooster, Red Rooster, Gracie, Mr. Tibbs, Uncle Franky, Chug, Fat Alfonso, Black Jack, Two-toes, Lightning, Hoss, Little Hoss, Deere, Big Joey, Clementine, Dasiy, All Spice, Ginger, Sir Arthur, Scarlet, Midnight, Tooter, Belly Boy, Stripe, Colonel Sanders, Bo Jack, Dr. Mike, Bob, Fuzzy, Mr. Sizzler, Aja, Spot, Jackson, General Grant, McHuge, Last Boy, Fish Face, Pony, Cowboy, Santana, Gigi, Hamlet, Coburn, and my favorite - Blue Eyes.

My - that's 45, and I can think of a dozen or so more, and several that were around when I was too young to remember names...they were all "kitty".

Alas, I now must enjoy cat life vicariously!

i'm sorry to say no, he has passed, on account of the fierceness of cap'n cheese, which I told the story in another thread but dont have the strength to tell it again. but thank you for your concerns.

that is so amazing about the wheel chair, modern technology has made so much posible, but how can your cat move around, does he turn the wheels with his paws or is it electrical?

Well, technically, I have two cats, but my sister's cat is staying with us for a while so...I temporarily have three. And I don't mind a bit. Loki is such a low-maintenance cat. I make sure to give him plenty of love and attention so he doesn't feel like his owners abandoned him. (they had to move in with their pregnant friend to help her out and because there was more room but couldn't take their cat and dog so I offered to keep them until they found their own place again.) Whew! Sorry for going so off topic! But, yeah, normally I have two...right now I have three! ^_^

Is this a trick question? I don't own any cats, they think I'm their servant! Not counting the cats our family had while growing up, I am on cat number 3. I don't know how to answer how many cats I have because I don't want to leave out Tux and Funny-Face just because they passed away and say I have one cat. i still love Tux and Funny-Face and they are still family members...they just don't have bodies anymore.

I only have one cat for now, but I SERIOUSLY want another. I think Angelheart is getting lonely, but my parents don't listen. I keep telling them that she is a very social cat, and she needs a little playmate to cuddle with. But they just say she'll get used to the loneliness, but I STRONGLY object. Please help.

I have 8 adult cats down from 10. I just lost my two oldest kitties, Whiskers and Prissy, sister and brother both 20 years old. They were the only kittens born at my house. There mother had been thrown out of a car and promptly gave birth to three kittens. One died but the twins lived a long and fruitful life of love and companionship. All my foundlings are neutered. I do not want to add to the animal population. All foundlings. Each has a special place in my heart. I have found homes for approximately 30 cats over the years. I live on a dead end road in the country and people seem to think they can just drop animals off to live in the woods. I have rescued puppys, kittens, cats, dog, cows, chickens and even a bull once. I don't regret any of it except the ones I could not save because some one thought it could live on its own in the fields or woods. Today I visited a wonderful shelter that rescues cats in our rural area. It is clean and beautiful and the approximately 100 cats that live there are happy and healthy. The shelter manager hopes to have more cats adopted out soon so she will have room to rescue other cats in need. However, our economy is playing a big part in the lack of funds for this and other shelters. Does anyone have any ideas how we can raise this awareness when other needs are so pressing?

Five cats

Four females and one male. All are fixed.
Two of the females, our oldest cats, are outdoor only cats, we can't get near them. Pookie and Quesadilla.
The neighbor has threatened to kill our cats if he sees them outside so the other three are indoor only. Luckily Pooks and Quesa don't leave the back yard.

Fluffy is our oldest indoor cat. Beijing and Figaro are the "kittens" they are three.

I have 2 fur babies,Sparkle and Precious.Well,they have me!Sparkle is a 7 year old grey tabby I have had since birth.Precious is a 3 year old black and white tuxedo recued from the shelter at 9 weeks old.They are the most spoiled girl in kitty history,but we won't have it any other way!
