I dunno about you guys but why choose between a cat and a dog when you have a cat that ACTS like a dog? Tommy comes when he's called, he plays fetch, and he eats the food that accidently falls on the floor

I like dogs as well of cats, but cats are easier to live with. I can't have a dog where I live now, but I have grown up with many dogs. With cats, I don't have to go for a walk in the rain, snow, freezing temps, etc. I like the independence cats have. If I have to go somewhere overnight, I don't have to worry or have someone come in to take care of them. Cats don't bark so it's quieter. And dogs don't purr

I definitely agree with the first part, not all dogs are hyper and it would be silly for anyone to say so. I also agree that you can't put one above the other, they are both wonderful animals to have around. I love both cats and dogs, I just think that cats are easier to take care of.

I don't agree with the second part, cats do have their own minds, but they definitely DO care about their people. All three of my cats come when I call them, not out of obedience, but because they love me and want to be with me when I am home. I also had a cat a few years back who was fiercely protective of me. He didn't like it when any man came near me and one time he actually attacked a guy that I had gone out with when he tried to hug me. Not to mention, you can look on the internet and find numerous stories about people who's cats saved their lives by alerting them to fire or burglaries. Dogs seem like better protectors because they are bigger than cats, but never underestimate how ferocious a ten pound cat can be!

This stereotypical muttering is not healthy for anybody.
Each breed is different, but with people rather buying dogs from newspaper ads, then a good breeder, no wonder so many dogs are * wacked*.

As a dogowner, I do not condone this teenage type maturity posts, cat people are a * breed of their own*.
But we should not put one abobe the other.

I prefer dogs, but we own both, dogs and cat.
I even turned my husband into a carperson, because EInstein is a very special feline.

Would I choose one over the other , no, I will always have both.

Cats seem to understand humans better. Dogs just seem to like whoever is spoiling them. A is more cautious about what is going on around it.

I love all animals, but cats are so much easier. I had a golden retriever years ago and it seemed like I had to plan my whole life around walking the dog. Get up in the morning, walk the dog. Come home from work, walk the dog. Go to bed at night, first walk the dog. I loved him, but jeez! Cats are so much less maintenance. I guess if I had a big, fenced in yard it would be a lot easier, but for now the kitties rule.

Although I like dogs well enough, I'm very much a cat person when it comes to owning an animal. Dogs are just waaaaaaaay too much work for me.

I totally understand some people are just cat people and some people are dog people.I am kinda both.Corgis are great!!!I attached a pic of my corgi woodrow when he was 2 months old.

Swiggle96 I understand where you are coming from, I don't have a dog. Anyway, I love corgies!!! If I ever got a purebreed dog it would be a corgi. I don't want to sound like I don't like dogs I do, I love dogs. I would like to have a dog one day but I do like cats better.

I love both but if I had to choose between a dog and a cat I would have to choose a dog.Only because my dog woodrow is always with me and my cat Mia only comes to me when she wants to and there is alot of diffrent thigs you can do with dogs.Like I do agility and flyball with my corgi.Also whoever has only cats for whatever reason of course are going to say they like cats better I know I would.Anyway I love both cats and dogs!!!

I like cats better, dog aren't my favorite pet I guess. I wouldn't mind having a dog I love them but if I had to chose between a cat and a dog I would pick the cat.

Cats are wonderful.And quiet too... But what's matter is cats are man's best friend too.

Dogs are curious animals. And hyper too.
