Member Levels

Hi Everyone,

I have received several questions asking how member levels work. The more replies you post, and the more frequently you post will increase your member level. If you are off the forums for a while and don't post for a few days or start to reply less often, your membership level will decrease. This is all automated. If you notice your member level decrease, you can easily build it back up by increasing how many and how often you post. Hope that helps! Thanks!

Today I was looking thru my things & I realized (cause I'm a BIG softie 4 animals, especially cats!): there a lot of homeless animals out there in America, and it's up to us, this generation, to help get rid of it! We need to picture ourselves as the animal(s), scared & helpless, and do something about it! We need to volunteer at the neer-by Humane Society, or whatever animal shelter is neer you! Or, if you're looking for a cat/ dog, then get one that will eventually be euthanized if no one wants it, instead of getting one from a friend or breeder! So what if the cat/ dog will be a little older than you hoped for, it's still an animal that deserves a CHANCE to live! In the end, it will be just as good as the kitten/ puppy you wanted 10 years ago! So get out there, volunteer, get an animal, and save an animal's life! You won't regret it! Got the message I'm trying to tell you? Good, it'll help save an animal's life!

Question about posting photographs

Not sure once again if I should post this here or in Tech or where. Sorry if it is in the wrong place.

Basically what I want to know is this. I have recently taken some photos I would like to share but they are not cat related except for the Serval pic. They are mostly animal pictures. But the pics are wild animals for the most part. Is there a specific place I can post them or is it prohibited to post pics that are not cat related.

Animal Law Committee Hosts Experts on April 19

WASHINGTON, DC – On Saturday, April 19, The George Washington University Law Center will host a panel of experts to discuss the links between domestic and animal abuse, and the tools available to the legal community, law enforcement and social services to stop this vicious cycle.

Overwhelming research indicates that in homes where there is family abuse, there is also abuse of domestic animals. The abuse of animals by children and young adults is very often a harbinger of potential violence toward humans down the line, and children who are exposed to family abuse are at a greater risk of psychological and behavioral problems, including animal abuse.

The conference is organized by the American Bar Association – Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s (ABA-TIPS) Animal Law Committee, and will feature legal and animal protection experts from across the United States.

Since I didn't get a reply to my email or PM from 6 weeks ago, let me try the forum in case you didn't receive my email or PM.

My email read:

Hi,
I just joined the cat channel forum and have had no
problems with an avatar pict or attaching a pict. But
when I try to add a pict in a post, I don't get the
same procedure of browsing for my picture. It seems
that the only way to do this is to click on the Insert
Image Icon which yields a dialog box that has a
question mark in a bubble and States: Enter the full
absolute URL to the image insert.... Then a space
where I should type in an URL.

The picture I want to post is on my computer, like my
avatar pict was, and not on the web.

Why can't I add a picture by browsing my computer,
like I did with my avatar??

Another member says that she DOES get the browse
option. I've tried two different browsers, but still
no luck.
Can you tell me how to do this??

I sent a PM to the admin yesterday, but no response.
