My name is Vicki, user name catwomanPly44, my cta names are Sylvester, Sqiggy, Milo, and Stanly. I haven't added Sqiggy, Milo and Stanly's profiles too the cat channel ,yet; but, plan on doing so within the next month.
This is my 1rst time rying this site, and sure could use a few new friends too help me get started, as well as tell me what I need too be doing on it?? Any help getting started would greatly be appreciated!!

hi everyone, mike here. i have just adopted my second kitten. his name is blackjack and he is four months old. my first cat is belle and she is eight months old. i just brought blackjack home yesterday. they have met and they didn't attack each other which is good. a little hissing from belle but blackjack seems very curious. they're sleeping in different rooms right now and i have been doing short intros which i'll be doing most of the week. belle hissed at me this morning and she has never hissed at me before. nothing even close to that. we are pals. she's jealous or disconcerted i'm sure. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. just want some support during this transition period. thanks

Hi I have been a member for a while. I live in Kentucky and have three wonderful cats. I have two females, Star who is 8 and Doobie just turned 7 on the 20th of this month. Doobie was priveledge to be COTD on the 24th. Thank you for all your votes and kind words. Smokey my tomcat, just turned a year old at the end of September. Smokey is a Russian Blue.

Incidently Smokey was named a finalist in the Hill's Science Diet 2nd Chance adoption contest. You can go to the Hill's Science Diet website starting November 1st if you want to to vote for him.

I have a loving husband named Richard. I would love to hear from any of you.

Yes it is possible that Ty is jealous. Your could try to play with the cats together with a string on a stick or a laser lite, just be careful not to point the laser lite in cats eyes, could do damage to the eyes. Maybe playing together with you will help with the jealousy issue. I know you said that you have tried squirting them and they stop fighting and than go back to fighting but you have to be consistent and keep it up to make them understand you are serious. If you do this once and than stop they will not learn. Make sure you give a lot of attention to both cats. I do know some cats are bully's, I have a couple here. So they need to be watched so they will not terrorize the other cats. So I yell Gizmo quit!! a lot. Maybe that will help you. Good luck.

Don't worry, I know when people mean no harm. And to answer your questions, about when Ty was I think 1 and a half, we got Bella, and we brought her home. We usually hung around with her to make her feel comfortable, and sometimes we let her do her own thing. The fighting started about 3 quarters of a year after they were introduced, but it was not that bad until a couple months ago when I noticed them getting a little more rough. I want the best for them because I am afraid one of them will get seriously injured. The one thing that I don't understand though is that when we did try (a couple weeks ago) spraying them with water and saying stop, it worked, sometimes we needed to restrain them until they are calm, but the next day they just keep going at it. Is it possible that this is the kind of brother-to-sister relationship thing about who gets something and when? Because my brother and I used to fight like that all the time, sometimes serious, sometimes fooling around. And if this helps at all, since my cat Bella is shy and frightened easily, my family usually does not give her as much attention as Ty, so I try to give her extra attention, so I think Ty might be jealous. Anyway, please respond when you get some time.

Hi, Katty here and no offense taken, somethings work for some and not others.

You can watch their posturing-crouched down, head low, eyes intense, end of tail twitching, than the attack. When this happens here I yell their name and no or stop (actually I say don't you dare.) But I think my cats understand. Even though some don't think cats can understand. I disagree. But you can keep it simple -no-stop-etc. Please don't be afraid to get the cats wet. If they are inside cats the water will not hurt them and will keep you from getting scratched. I know you said one is 4 and one 5 but how long have they been together? When did this start? Were they introduced slowly? Or just put together and than the fights began? Don't take offense at my questions but it helps me to understand more of the situation so maybe I can help. Hissing, growling, even smacking although we don't like it, is okay. But biting is not, cats biting each other can cause a bad abscess. Cat bits especially when they are fighting is almost venomous, the vet will tell you much worse than dog bit. I don't remember if I told you (I can't go back and look cause this will delete) I have MANY rescue cats, some were feral. With this many you would expect constant fighting, but it doe not happen. Up the are a few that I watch around certain others. But on the most part all get along well. So I know you can do this with two. We will keep trying different things. Thank you very much for your advice. The only problem I still face is that (no offense) I have tried that before yet they still run around the house and go nuts. Is there any way to actually tell when they are going to fight? If there was I could try giving them both some attention before they fight so they calm down. Would that work? Or should I talk to my vet or someone?

Hello, Welcome to the cat forum. You will meet a lot of nice people and get a much information.

Your kitties are really cute, I would not want you to give up on them. They are fighting for Pecking order. Top cat. You know. I have several cats and have experienced this as well. Mine don't do this as much not though.

You get a Water squirt bottle set on stream and the next time (and every time) they start, squirt in the middle of the action. This will immediately stop the fight and get their attention. With a raised voice say Quite, or stop. It will not take long for them to realize, this is a NO. That you are TOP CAT and you mean business.

Have you introduced yourself and cats on the intro page yet? I mean in the forum topics. (Below) You can also post any questions on other pages as well. It is fine that you posted here, But I rarely look up here. Just happened to see this. Explore around and you will get the hang of things quite quickly. Have fun. Glad you are here. Hello everyone! I've actually been a member of cat channel for a while now, but i never knew that this existed, nobody ever told me. Anyway, my two cats are Ty and Bella, Ty is 5, Bella is 4. I have a couple questions, one, how DO you get picked as cat of the week or day? and two, there is a problem, and i was wondering if someone could help. I love both of them very much, but the thing is that they always fight, and it doesn't look like play fighting: they bite, they scratch, they run from each other, and they hiss at one another. It kind of gets annoying too, because sometimes i try to stop them and they just run right by me or i get scratched up. The only way i know that i can resolve this is if i give one away which i would never want to do. Please, someone help me!

Hi Everyone! I'm new here. I am the proud Furmommy to 10 kitties, 9 males, 1 female. The females name is Buttons , the males are Johnny Cat, Shadow, Sargent Pepper, Kodi, Tommy, Sunny(?), Lucky, Stone, and PJ. PJ has FIV, this is a challenge keeping him separated, but it is working, thankfully. Sunny is my lastest addition, not sure yet if this is going to be his name. He has the biggest feet I have ever seen on a kitty. These are all rescued kitties. I also have some "traveling saleskitties" that I feed.

I have Windows XP, and I can access everything. It's fun. I had a great time setting up webpages for my kittens & littermates Topper and Callie who are now 7 months old. They'll be 8 months old the day after Xmas. It's fun to write in their blogs. Sometimes I forget where the Cat Quizzes are (in Cat Fun Stuff I think), and I don't know when my points expire or how to get more awards, but other than that, it's all great fun. I need to get a picture of our new cat condo with the cats in it. They love it there. Napping nirvana and a great place to bird and people watch.

I can't seem to find any of the fun things to do on this site. For instance, the stamp for honoree you get when you join, how do you get more in that area? Also, where are the quizzes and stuff?
