Sadie is now sick with an upper respiratory infection but she is on medicine too. Hopefully Coco doesn't get sick!

Well yesterday I was a little upset because Coco hadn't come home since the morning to get a quick bite and then left. There was no sign of her anywhere, I was fearing the worst and thought this was going to another Butterscotch situation. That afternoon I went outside for about 10 minutes walking around calling for her. I was very bummed but I had to continue on with my day. Well I saw the unfamiliar cat in my neighbors yard so I went to go see if it had tags or any id, so I walk to my neighbors house to find Coco sitting by this cat. I got the cat to come to me and his name was Cooper and he lived down the street. So Coco found a boyfriend, but she is on lock down because she had been saying out all night which she isn't supposed to do. Silly cat!

I would say Leo is bigger even though Sadie is almost his size, sometimes Sadie looks bigger but it is just how Leo is sitting.

Leo was fine when he ate this morning so I really don't understand why he threw up yesterday. He is still sick from his infection even though he has gotten his medicine twice and day, and I think Sadie is going it too. Now Sadie and Leo are best friends, they were playing with each other outside this morning and this afternoon. I'm so glad that we are one big have family again!

Well I couldn't figure out if it was digested or not because it was wet food and it looks the same either way. I will try separating the three when they eat in the morning and if this continues I will put something in the bowl to slow him down.

If the kibble appeared more whole than digested, this is actually called regurgitation and not vomiting. The cat will eat it's food so fast that it doesn't make it to the stomach. It sits in the esophagus until the body forces it back out. This could be a dominance thing. Pharaoh did something similar for a while when he was a kitten. Leo could feel a bit threatened by Sadie and Coco, so he's eating his food as fast as he can to keep them from getting to it. Or, if he is then trying to eat Sadie and/or Coco's food, he is trying to establish himself in the pride heirarchy. By wolffing down his food, then stealing the other cats' food, he is telling them he is more dominant.

If the food was more digested, most likely it just didn't agree with him (he could have eaten it a little too fast, or was just stressed about something). Leo's only been in your home for about a week now. He's still adjusting. It took Aster about 9 months to a year before he really settled in and became the cat he is today- a little more laid back and trusting.

If you think it is a dominance thing, try feeding Leo a little apart from the girls. You can get a bigger bowl and put a rock or golf ball in it. This way, he has to eat around the ball/rock, and that will slow him down. My favorite trick for fast eaters came from a bachelor client when I was working at the vet clinic. Take the serving of food and throw it in the middle of the kitchen floor! It will fly everywhere and your pet will have to chase the pieces to eat them! Like I said, this came from a young bachelor with a chocolate lab!

Aww I dont really know did you give him a new flavor or kind of food this morning?Maybe it just didnt agree with his tummy.Or maybe he ate to fast cause that happened to Mia!!If he throws up more then I would take him to the vet.

Thanks everyone. I don't know why but Leo threw up today, about an hour after he ate be just got sick. He seems fine now but what do you all think?

That is so fantastic! Leo is a very handsome boy! I love the picture of Coco in your sig. She looks like the queen of her pride. Sadie looks like the spoiled little princess, and Leo looks like a sweet, mellow baby boy!

Leo went on his first adventure outside, with supervision, he didn't go past our patio but it went well. It has been one weeks since Leo has been in our home and he already fits in and our girl are coming around to him, I can't wait until we have three kitties playing with each other!

It does take time for them to adjust to each other. Every now and then mine still get into spats. They are just like siblings.

They will learn! It takes time! Sadie is also used to being the baby, and now, she isn't anymore. She may be younger than Leo, but her 'new-ness' has worn off. She's feeling a little jealous and defensive. She has to claim her right as the spoiled princess if it takes every whisker to do so!

Pharaoh is still jealous about Pixie sometimes. He will smack her for no reason. He's also developed a bad Bi-Polar disorder! He is sweet and lovey one minute, and the next he's growling at you and throwing a tantrum! It's was kind of funny at first, but now it's more annoying than anything. He's getting better slowly now that 2 of the 3 fosters are gone.

All kitties take time to adjust at their own pace. Some jump right into the whole 'new sibling' thing. Others take a while. Glad to hear that progress is being made. I'll bet in 2 weeks, everyone will be best friends!

My kitties are getting better, Leo and Coco were playing together last night! And Sadie was sort of playing with Leo with the laser, but she is getting better about hissing at him every minute of every day.

glad to hear it! man do i need a kitten about right now!! the six days I got to raise kitty were awesome, and i cant imagine what its like to have 3 of those wonderful animals.

I wish to have a kitten or 2 and make them get along with my doggies, kitty was already getting along with them, too bad some monster poisoned her ( he was caught yesterday, tough he is not gonna get time for animal killing he do has other crimes that will land him in jail, making it safe for kittens again) killed my dreams just when they where taking off.

Well New Kitty has a name it is Leonidas (This is SPARTA!!! ), but his nick name is Leo. Leo went to the vet and he is perfectly health except for the infection, he has antibiotics and eye drops. But it is too late for separating the girls and Leo hey have been together since he got home so I an excepting a least one more sick kitty (Coco has been inside alot because we have had nice weather).

I just saw the new thread today. CONGRATS!!! I'm very happy for you...or, should I be happy for your dad? Oh well! Either way, you're workin' your way up! Soon, you'll have 5 cats like me! Maybe even 12 like EvenDozen (haven't seen him on in a while..)!

Just a friendly reminder to keep New Kitty away from Coco and Sadie until he has been on antibiotics for a while. You'll want to try and disinfect EVERYTHING as much as possible. I really like Clorox Everywhere Spray. You can literally just spray it on the condo after he jumps down and a few minutes later, everything is fine! That's how I kept all of my cats from getting sick when my foster Oliver had a VERY bad URI (poor guy had brown goo dripping from his nose. But he still wanted to get in your face and purr and be loved! Cute and gross at the same time!)

Well, I'll stop rambling. I'm SOOOO happy for you! I can't wait to hear what his new name is (Please not Oliver. I loved that cat, but...please, no...)!

New Kitty is doing good but he has an upper respiratory infection. But I kinda knew it was going to happen because two other cats at the shelter in the room with him were sneezing. Sadie is still a little upset but she has gotten much better. Coco still doesn't know what to think of him. New Kitty likes men better than women, he slept with my dad and was snuggling with my bother yesterday, but he still loves women.

When I do move out, which won't be for a long time because the college I am going is 30 minutes away from my house so I will be living at home during college, I won't be taking away of my cats. My parents won't let me, they say that the cats would be too upset by the move but I know that they just want them for themselves!

MiniBeast - I lived with my parents until I got married, and "I" had a cat. My dad did not like cats, but this cat chose to ignore Dad's feelings.

When my husband and I announced our engagement, my sister-in-law asked me if I was going to take "my" cat with me. I didn't get the chance to open my mouth - my dad quickly informed us all that no, Mr. Meow was his cat and was staying where he was!

The cats is so loveable, he wasn't shy at all, when we got him home we had him in the spare room but he just wanted to leave and explore the house, so he has free roam. I slept in his room last night so that Coco and Sadie could have a break from him and he wouldn't leave me alone, rubbing all over me, geting in the bed with me, he is so cute! I think Coco wants to be his friend but she doesn't know what to think of him yet, Sadie still doesn't like him but it is sightly better than yesterday but he just wants to play! New Kitty is very cute but he does have one bad habit, he jumps on the counters and the dining room table, but that can easly be fixed with the help of a squirt bottle.

Remember cats can live for a very long time. Over 30 years in some cases if fed species approte food such as raw feeding or good canned.

p.s. Your dad sounds like a peach of a guy - but I bet your mom takes you to the shelter next time you donate food!
