I know EVERTHING about cats!! I breed cats, Siberians to be excact. I am a VERY experienced breeder, and I know what cat you might like or if your cat is sick, I'll know what you should do. Or we could just chat about how much we love cats and talk about funny little stories that our cats did. I have lots of funny little stories! If you feel like you might like to talk or chat a little, feel free to PM me. I don't like to be e-mailed, so if you want to talk, PM me.

Taffy, I'm happy to talk with you!  I've seen a couple of your posts here, but I've forgotten - is it Siberian or Norwegian Forest cats that you breed?

How did you become a breeder?  What do you particularly like about the breed you chose?  Have you worked with any other breeds?  I'd had an idea that I might like to breed cats on a small scale as a retirement activity - still some years away but I'm beginning to investigate some possibilities for retirement.

I have three cats - one is a mixed-breed calico shelter kitty, another is also a shelter kitty but appears to be a purebred something - the shelter thought Siamese, we at one time thought either Balinese or Himalayan, but now he seems to most closely resemble a Ragdoll. He's a flame-point. Our third kitty is a purebred Scottish Fold with folded ears - she's a red spotted tabby.  The calico is a year old and both the "Ragdoll" and the Scottish Fold are 6 months old.

your enthusiasm makes me want to ask you a though one (at least I think it is).  There are different kinds of tabby, I know, but I have had a couple of cats with an unusual color pattern that looks like a mix of tabby and dilute tortie.  What color pattern does my cat Stretch have?

So many cats...
Isn't it great?

I would love to pick your brain and converse.  I'm not always easy to get in touch with.  Maybe we'll have to set a time.  Now...is PM post message?

I just got a new kitten.  Kirby was just 4mos old last Tuesday, October 23.  He's a black-smoke Cornish Rex.  He's so affectionate!  I love him dearly!

I do have some about registration, shows and such.

we have 2 adult cats they are unrelated, of course, we have friends who wanted cats so we have homes for the kittens. Anyway, we decided to let our cats have a litter before having them spayed/neutered. Female had 3 kittens today and she keeps attcking the dad I had to put the male in the outside hallway with the screen door open for his own safety and he's never been outside before. Obviously I need to get the female and kittens into a closet in a box but how do I keep the male away from her and vice-versa.

Hey Harley - the person who knows EVERYTHING about cats (cough cough) posted her message about 8 mos ago.  so I Rusty (a Siberian myself) will answer your question.

First of all, GET THE MALE NEUTERED!  The female is protecting her kittens from him -- barn cat males have been known to kill and eat kittens!

Get your female spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned.  Keep the male away until the kittens get older, then your queen will calm down.  It would really help to get him neutered.  Doesn't he spray?  He might not stop spraying after he is neutered, but it at least it won't smell as bad.  After he is neutered the queen might even let him back in the room with the kittens.

Fixed pets are happier, healthier and live longer.

Kittens are also a whole lot of fun!  Enjoy!  But keep them apart!

Come visit me (Rusty):

Not sure how long you've been breeding but I chuckle at the statement of "I know EVERYTHING" - sorry to disappoint you but as a good breeder/cat owner, you should never say you know everything about cats - I've been in the cat fancy for over 30 yrs and STILL learn new things about cats and breeds.

Fine to offer advice to newcomers, but please don't put yourself up that high
