| It breaks my heart reading stories of how cruel people are to animals. They had a string of cases in Belmont County Ohio And it was all over the news. I wish they would not only tell the animals stories but also show that there a consequences to these cruel actions. I had a neighbor who threatend to shoot my cats because they sit on my porch and her dogs (yucky smelly yorkies) bark. So I wrote a letter to my city council, humane officer, mayor and sheriffs department describing her as the raving looneytune she is. I had a letter signed by eight different neighbors stating my cats are not a nuisance and are well cared for. Now she doesn't say a word-won't even look at me.
Life without cats is boring! My family pictures http://cu.morningjournalnews.com/pages/user_detail.php?user=144341

| Where I live, if someone wants to adopt a black cat or kitten within the two week window before Halloween, they are not allowed to take him/her home until after Halloween. You can adopt him or her, but you can't bring them home until after October 31. This is due to the "rituals" that some sick people like to perform, using black cats. There are a lot of sikkos out there, but this sort of ruling proves that there are also a lot of caring people out there, as well.

| The shelter group that we got Ginger from had several black cats last week, but I think I remember that last year they weren't letting people take them home until after Halloween. But this year they have so many cats that some of them are living in cages at the vet's (the shelter was founded and run by a vet), and people just are not adopting cats, so they may not be able to follow that policy this year. I'll have to ask them tomorrow when we got for more cat food.

people have no compassion these days. It makes me so sad and angry what people are willing to do to cats or any animal for that matter. My thoughts and prayers are with you who have lost cats and also with the souls of kittens who have passed on. I also pray for the cruel individuals that have to search themselves and find the compassion to stop their cruel behavior.
THanks to you cat lovers out there for all the support here~!

All the more reason why I don't let my babies go out. One of them skips out every once in a while, but she comes back within an hour: even though, she only gets past me about every 3 months or so. None of them are allowed outside. There are crazy people out there!
Having said that, I do feed about 4 or 5 ferrals (2 of whom I rescued and who now live inside with me), one has been coming around for about 3 years, was trapped, neutered and returned by a humane association. Although they are not household pets, I do care a great deal about them and would be furious if anyone intentionally hurt any one of them. Grrr is right!!
They have captured my heart for life!

I have an all black cat. Someone abandoned him about 3 years ago, and he roamed the streets all spring that year until I finally convinced him to live here. He is a joy, a delight and the most wonderful cat to come into my life since my Mickey. I heard that story about people performing ritualistic atrocities on black cats and I'm glad "Boo" doesn't go out, because there are some really bad people around these parts. We had a situation a few years ago wherein there was some sort of Black Magic cult operating in a forest just outside of the city. Bones of animals, even a murder there. What the h-ll?
They have captured my heart for life!
