My cat Pepper is very attached to a broken hair band. She'll carry it around, lay down with it, and just go everywhere with it in her mouth. One day, I threw the string (hair band) onto the fridge by accident. Half of it was dangling off the fridge and she couldn't reach it. She stood there for about ten minutes trying to find a way up. Then she started to crying until i gave it to her. Sometimes when I play with her, i would tease her by holding the string too high for her. She would start meowing after two minutes.
Do any of your cats have toys they are severely attached too? :-D

(just a random picture i came across)

| Pepper sounds like a delightful little girl. None of mine cry if they lose their toys, but Darren sure has a way of letting us know where they are. He will lie on his side and try to reach under the refrigerator, or he will crouch there with his nose under the door as if trying to see under it. We get the hint and go get the toy fetcher (a yard stick). When they see the yardstick coming, they get all excited and run around behind Ron, waiting to see what forgotten toy he retrieves.

Gizmo's favorite 'minky toy' is so chewed up that it can't be played with any more until I re 'fur' bish it. She cries when i try to play with something else, though there is one that is nearly identical.
Gizmo may have Siamese blood...she's now starting to wail, not just meow. She's also more active now that the days are longer.
Cats were gods in Ancient Egypt. So what's changed since then?

I think females are just naturally more chatty than males. (I mean female cats). I think the word caterwaul was invented for my two girls. They are loud, raspy, insistent, and incessant.

| haha, Pepper is actually a pretty quiet cat. Her meow is very raspy. She only meows (sometimes wails) when she's really hungry and i'm about to feed her, when i hide her toy, or when she doesn't want to be picked up, and when I come home. My friend's friend's cat is so talkative. She meows constantly, every few seconds she would meow, and she meows at anything :-D Sometimes I wish Pepper would talk more

Tinsel has a favorite toy too. It's a large pom pom with shiny ribbons attached to it. She loves to play fetch with those, and won't fetch anything else. Whenever I take it out she will meow and jump to get it. But she does play with her other toys too. When I notice that she hasn't played with a certain toy for a while, I'll put it in the closet and pull out a new toy. That helps her stay facinated with all of her toys so I don't have to keep buying more. Although some how I always manage to pick up something new when I go to the pet store

| haha, i can never stop myself from buying toys for pepper. :-D Although most of the stuff i buy she doesn't like too much, she only likes stuff that my friends got her or just something that happened to be on the floor (such as the broken hair band!)

lol, phantom will play with just about anything. his toys and anything misfortunate enough to be in his reach. his favorite toy is a mouse and if you take it from him, he whines, a soft lil closed mouth mew and he looks at you ... and if you take too long to throw it or give it back then he'll start to cry. but he is really talkative ... even in his sleep sometimes. is that normal?
he takes this mouse from room to room with him and sleep with it sometimes the way pepper does. but he will play and crash so if he wasn't playing with it when sleep catches up with him then he's sleeping with whatever he had last in his grip.
im owned by a bengal who sometimes lets me believe i own him :p

Two of my chattiest cats are Pea and Gabe, Pea will carry on a conversation where as Gabe is just vocal to get you to pay attention to him. Gabe has his love object, his fibble. He'll comb the house for this piece of rabbit fur, he'll carry it around take it to the food bowl the litterbox (in case it has to go I guess). He'll carry it up onto the bed, and then for awhile its allowed to stay there for a day or so.
My cats own my house they just permit me to live there. Only cat lovers know the luxury of fur-coated, musical hot water bottles that never go cold." - Susanne Millen
