I'm moving from Wisconsin to Texas in the fall, and I was just curious what would be the best possible way to transport my two cats across the country. I have harnesses for both of them and carriers. I wasn't planning on stopping anywhere and staying the night, considering the drive is going to be about 18 hours and I want this trip to be as stress-free as possible. Any advice would be welcome and appreciated!

IMO it would do everyone good to stop at least over night rather then drive 18 hrs without stopping. You want to keep the cats in separate carriers - do NOT let them ride loose in the car when driving.
The most we've gone was a 6 hr drive (cat show). We stop every few hrs and get out and walk around; allowing Charlie to have time to walk and stretch inside the car. Usually if we stop for more then 1/2 hour (eating) we'll let him out during that time.
You also need the time for the cats to be out and use a litter pan and eat and drink - that's why you do this when you are eating supper. Do no sedate the cats.
