I'm just discovering Catchannel ,I've been reading Cat Fancy for years but haven't been here. I have had cats for almost 40 years , no thats not right cats have had me for almost 40 yrs. I think my favorite breed is the Manx , 4 live with me and they are something else ! Kid is the oldest 8 1/2 and thinks he's boss , Mossy is slightly overweight about 18 lbs and thinks all the food is hers , Then theres the twins Bob and Daisy . Bob is a mamas boy that thinks hes the only child ! Daisy is special she has a regular length tail and shes a flower child. And then theres Sam-Sam not a Manx and picked on by everyone so I give her special attention . I love all my cats and they are my children  so they are spoiled beyond rotten . Thanks for reading this and I would like to hear from Manx people

When I first got married our very first cat together was a steel grey Manx.  She was and is to this day one of the smartest cats I've ever known!  Talk about human-like, it was like she could understand English perfect.  Unfortunately, she was born with the defective gene prevelent in the Manx breed and we only had her for 3 1/2 years.  After she passed, we could still feel her spirit jump up on the bed with us -- this went on for years.  I still miss that cat!

This is a picture of one of my current cats "Rusty" (Siberian):
