Sir. Kindly stay on topic. The choices were Littermaid and Cat Genie.

| I completely agree. If you can't offer any decent suggestions, then please find somewhere else to take out your frustration of the world on. I've never heard of the Litter-Robot, but sometimes your unknown brands can be better than the name brands. Like those batteries that come with your remote when you first get them? You can't find the brand ANYWHERE but they last FOREVER! It's definitly worth checking into. And I think your purple comic sans font is very fun and creative!

Who are all these weird people on this website all of a sudden?! Is it just me? Anyway, shadowfax, I think my sister was using Arm & Hammer scoopable or Tidy Cat scoopable. I'm sure you're not the only person who hasn't had a problem with the Littermaid, or maybe you are lucky and you did get the only two that were good!! That's a nice thought, some people win the lottery, you get lucky with kitty litter...... sorry.

I have both the littermaid and the cat genie. I am having a hard time getting all four cats to use the cat genie. The littermaid is not that great I am on my 3rd one and I am sure I will get another one real soon beacuse it is already failing again and I just rec'd the new one about 3 weeks ago but they are really good about replacing the broken ones but it is a pain. I think that the motor is not strong enough. I thought I would get the genie to releave some pressure on the littermaid.check out the web page on the littermaid system that is what I have. I do not have to buy the bags anymore because the tidy cat bucket works great. http://www.litterworks.com/ I have only had the cat genie for about 2 weeks so I will give them a little more time. I am sure they will all come around. They are all such easy going cats. You can check out my babies at http://crittershooter.smugmug.com/gallery/5671069_yUzkE#P-1-24

Arabella's Mommy (11/18/2008) The last 2 replies were quite rude. If you can't say anything nice or say anything on the topic yourself, then why say anything? That is very rude.
Amanda. Why was I included in your outlandish attack? I was trying to keep people on topic and you condemn me as being rude?
I mean isn't calling someone rude for no reason rude in itself?
Perhaps you need to hold your judgmental mirror up to your own mug.
Why say anything indeed.

Folks back up if you look the person with the issues with your font has been banned, so kindly put the claws away. (And we now return to our regularly scheduled forum already in progress!) I've heard of the litter-bot and yes it does look like a death Star but i've heard it's the only automatic box that is "universally" loved by everyone who uses it. I haven't tried it myself, but i haven't tried any automatic litterboxes.

If I were to have any kind of good luck I guess that would be it. Perhaps the difference is that for the most part I have only had one cat at a time? Perhaps it is a multiple cat issue.
The litter robot looks kinda cool actually. Same it so expensive though.
Death Star full of poop..... now there is a mental picture to take to bed.

| I've seen litterboxes like the "Death Star with poop" (lol!), but instead of being automatic, you roll them back and forth a couple of times, and the used litter and clumps end up in a catchall bin. What I just recently started doing with my cat Tripod's box is I bought a little swingtop wastebasket ($3 at Big Lots!), took some plastic grocery bags, and after inspecting them for holes and taping up all of them, I folded all but one of the bags and put them in the bottom of the wastebasket. The last one I opened up and used it as a liner for the wastebasket, then put the top back on. When I scoop out the litterbox, I usually have to take the lid off to dump the clumps--some of which are pretty big--and when the bag is full, I take it out, tie the top closed and take one of the bags from the bottom and use that to replace it. The full bag is then tossed in the trash, either in the bag with the rest of the garbage or taken down to the dumpsters by itself. Works fine. I could use an empty litter bucket with lid, but Tripod's food and water dishes, along with her litterbox, are in my bathroom, and there's not enough space. Thus, the small wastebasket. Looks nicer, too.
