President-elect Barack Obama has said he promised his daughters a puppy after the election. But can’t we convince the Obamas to add a cat to the family as well? It would be great to see a cat or kitten in the White House.

Leave your convincing statements on why the Obamas shoud add a cat to their family here at CatChannel!

Cats are self cleaning, and depending on breed and coat length, require less grooming maintenance. How cool would it be for his kids to be able to walk thier dog AND thier cat? And I must say, I do think Socks, the last Whitehouse cat (I think he was the last) was far more famous than any old Checkers!

I think a nice Siberian cat would be a nice addition to the family. I understand one of the daughters has allergies.

I totally think a cat would be awesome at the Whitehouse!!! A nice ragdoll maybe..... Named after one of the First Ladies or Presidents..... That would be cool!

I don't think that he should have a cat because cats should be played with and loved.  Obama WOULD NOT make a good cat father! :p

If the last administration is any indication, presidents have plenty of time to be cat daddies.
