I am very sorry for your loss. I am sure your little Ewok did not suffer and her life was a happy one because of you. The way she cried to go to bed sounds like a sign of her wanting to be next to you and feel your presence next to her as she passed. Animals know when they are going, as I had a rottweiler (Bertha) that walked out of our yard and went to her favorite place in the woods to pass away. I think that is what your little Ewok was doing too. She didn't want you to see her go, and that is why you were asleep when it happened. She made sure of it. I hope Ewok is with my cat Booty, who died on the 22nd, and that they are chasing plenty of mice in kitty heaven. I have you and your Ewok in my thoughts.

When someone has forgotten the song in their heart, put a cat in their lap to remind them <3

My "Bramble" dies the same way ... laying next to me in bed. It was devastating! Did I maybe roll atop him? NO. Dir I miss some clue, some hint, that all was not well?  Not that I can tell.

He haunted me for a while; I was truly shaken. Even my other cats were distressed.

Here's my little guy ... who I am sure delights in having Ewok as his new play-mate!
