Hello, I have 2 cats they are brother and sister. My cats will be 3 in February and I've had them since they were about 7 weeks old. I have had cats and dogs all my life growing up as a kid. I always thought these cats were unusual and so do other people when they see them. I always wondered why as a kitten my cats would just completely relax when you pick them up (I thought they were just spoiled) I always wondered why they hair felt different from other cats (like a rabbit) I always wonder why they always lay on their backs why they were so bushy and their tails fan out and they always stand on their hind legs. People thought they were exotic because they are not fat just big. Then one day I was watching animal planet and the breed Ragdoll cats was displayed. My cats have all the characteristics of a Ragdolls except they don't have blue eyes and they are darker than Ragdolls but the they have the same shape and behavior. Pepper has the white face, pink, nose, white feet and belly. The rest is black/chocolate brown. Stripes is grey, cream, and orange with black stripes his feet are mitted. Is it safe to say they are Ragdolls?

Thanks for the link. Did you say your cat just passed away. I'm so sorry to here that. I often think about a time when it will happen to my pets. Their just like family. They make you laugh, worried and even angry just like my siblings.

If your cats don't have blue eyes, they're not purebred Ragdolls - but they sound like they're Ragdoll mixes.  Either way they're wonderful cats and I bet you enjoy them!

One of my cats is a Ragdoll.  Harley's very playful and mischievous - I call him my "Dennis the Menace" kitty.  He answers to several nicknames that tell the story:  Handsome Harley-Man, Mr. Man, Mr. Trouble, Monster-Man.  But you just cannot help but love him!

The link above show the common types and the solids which don't have blue eyes. I'm just glad to know I have a name to associate these cats with because people ask what type of cats are they because they look so different from other cats. I tried to download pictures from my phone but was unable to. Maybe next time.

I personally wouldn't say it's safe to say they are Ragdolls.
