I have a question:

Do Persian cats come from Persia (currently Iran)?

Persians are really popular because of their long, thick, elegant hair

All answers are greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

I think so but I'm not 100% sure. You should Google 'persian cats' and on wikipedia the biography of this cat breed should come up.

Though they have nice temperments they are a cruel breed IMO, some have such long tick hair they are slaves to the groomer and must be shaved up regularly to even walk. Breathing/ eye and skin problems from matts can really do a number on them too. they are over bred and some have to be put down if they come from mills/ect

I would ban them if I ran the cat world. Beautiful but cruel.
