I'm sorry to hear of the tragic ending of this sweet cat....but what did you expect? You said she ALWAYS laid in the road and she was too old & overweight to get up and move fast enough to get out of the way of cars. I'm sorry, but if you loved her you would not have let this happen to her.

StaffordMom - I think you're being maybe just a little harsh here. PoorPisces needs our compassion and understanding right now - how absolutely painful to come home to the tragic death of a beloved cat!

We've participated in several threads debating the pros and cons of allowing cats outside unsupervised and haven't really resolved the issue - probably because there's no one-size-fits-all solution.  In some areas, traffic isn't as much of a problem, and a cat who's been accustomed to the outdoors isn't always happy as an indoor-only kitty.  Sometimes one has to consider the cat's happiness as well, and I believe PoorPisces has tried her best to keep her cats happy and healthy.

PoorPisces, I'm so sorry that this happened.  I know you're hurting terribly and I pray for God's peace for you as you deal with this.

Thank you all. She was buried with love and respect, right among the flowers in our garden. I look around for her every now and then, but I know she's gone. I miss her so much.

poorpisces im soo soo so sorry for your loss! I really am! Its so hard to lose such a great personality around the house! You were able to give her a great life and she would be thankful for that! We all are. Thankyou for giving another kitty the best life you could.

Its terrible that you couldnt be there to see her one last time but she would never forget you just as you wont forget her.

Staffordmom i think that is a bit over the top. Considering the personality of the kitty there is no way you can stop them from doing what THEY want... after all thats what cats do!

you also have your new baby to look out for now and to enjoy.

Love and thoughts x

Cats_Dolls Thank you so much for your understanding. I appreciate your kindness and sympathy. You are a genuine and caring person. Thank you, thank you.

Staffordsmom I do not care for your harshness. You are entitled to your opinion, but not against free will. However, maybe if your cat had died the same way and someone had wrote what you had, you'd think differently. I live in the utmost rural community and sometimes there's the redneck trash that drink and drive, or choose to not pay attention. No one else around my house would speed and they all know each and every one of my cats. You wouldn't know anything unless you were there.

Also, thank you TommyGirl for your lovely words. I also forgot to post that some animal tried to dig up her body the other day and I saw the blanket that I had wrapped her in. It devastated me. I had to add another 50 pound rock and place it deeper. I'm just glad I didn't have to see her body, and that they didn't get to her.

Hang in there, PoorPices! This has to be so hard for you. But it will get better, I promise. Your heart feels empty right now. That's normal. A piece of you has been taken away. But not forever. I'm sure Booty will come back and visit you occasionally as you sleep; one day you'll feel a kitty rub against your leg and no one is there, or hear purring in your ear when there's no kitties around.

In time the pain will ease. It may never completely go away. But how can it? You've lost a best friend. Booty was more than just a pet, she was your friend, a family member- a pride sister. But one day you will find yourself whistling at work, or laughing with your friends again. You'll stop and think, "Oh no! I should be mourning her death!" Don't worry. She would want you to move on and be happy. You can go on with life but never forget her. She'll always be with you. One day, she will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge. Booty will run into your arms and rub into your neck. You'll feel the warmth of her body meld with yours and you will be one and whole again.

But until that day, she will live on always in you. And by the way, I think Booty is a very beautiful lady. Very dignified.

Booty was a beauty! I like her calico markings on her head - very unique!

I know times are tough when you loose a member of your family - it will get better when the time is right like VetTechGirl said....don't fight it - you will know when it's time
