I recently bought a live catnip plant. When I let my cat get to it he will sniff around at it and eat a little. He however does not go crazy and roll around in it like he does with dried catnip. which is better?

| It's an herb, related to the mint family. About 2/3 of all cats love the stuff, it's like kitty marijuana and they'll go crazy over it. They eat it, roll around in it, just act like verrryyy happy stoned cats. About 1/3 of all cats don't have any interest in it - it's actually a genetic thing and these cats didn't get the catnip gene! I've never given them fresh catnip but mine like the dried stuff. Harley absolutely goes crazy over it and gets a little aggressive with the girls if they approach his catnip. Ginger loves it too but isn't as wild about it. Kearstie is interested and will eat it but kinda acts like she doesn't really understand what all the fuss is about - guess she didn't get the gene!

We've only had the plant, cat absolutely loved it. So I don't know which one is better as I've never tried dried stuff.
He went so over the top about the plant that we weren't allowed to go near it and then he loved it so much that he killed it.
I tried to grow cat grass once but while I was growing it in the window sill my dog went a little to town on it and peed on it and then tried to roll on it. He thinks he's a cat!!

I would love to get a fresh cat nip plant but I don't know where to find one here!
To my delight, I found out my kitten is crazy for the cat nip I've had sitting in my cupboard for months now. My older cat didn't care for it at all, but it's nice to know now I can use it for the kitten and it won't go to waste. I just love the way it smells!!
