I have been thinking a lot about Butterscotch this week and it is also not mourning but just missing him. I think it is because I have had so much time on my hands but whatever. I have recently been looking though the glass in the door where he would always look in if he wanted inside, just to see if he was there. I just miss him and I would really have loved to see him and Sadie together.

I am not reading all of this thread as I get too emotional just reading the sad part.

Lets see I remember when I was trimming Sneakers nails once when he was a kitten still, and Tachie my older cat was at my feet which I didn't know, until I guess I pinched him a little closer to the quick (Not that close, it didnt bleed but guess was felt more) and he cried, and she nipped my calf and ran Never mind she wouldnt go anywhere near him at that point, but she was supervising.

We have always kept the carrier open where they could get into it, and when we first had them, we kept the carrier in the living room on a dry bar. They would run to hide when the doorbell rang, and often hide in the carrier, even running into the bedroom and then back into the living room, to hop up and hide in the carrier, I remember one time the manager happened to see one looking out and asked why we had it locked in a cage Now the door was wide open, they weren't locked in!!

Then another story, goes with the food stories others have posted, One of my later kitties Tigger was a real food hound, his nickname was hoover as he would eat ANYTHING. When he was a kitten, I was cleaning a cornish hen prior to cooking it, and the phone rang, so I washed my hands fast and ran to answer it in the living room. At the time we did not have a phone in the kitchen. Anyway, in the time for me to run in for the cordless phone, I was returning to the kitchen, and heard a sound and ran for the kitchen, as he jumped down from the sink, dropping the hen as they landed, as it was as big as he was, then he quickly grabbed it again and took off  at the other end of the kitchen, I got the hen back when he dropped it by the couch.

I cut off the toofholes on top before cooking LOL

He also liked soybeans which I learned by accident, when I dropped one while eating, and it was gone before I bent over to get it, and he was licking his lips in a very self satisfied manner. I handed him another as I thought for sure he just ate it not knowing what it was, but he LOVED them.

Edited for another add on about Tig.

Remembered when Tigger and Freckles were fairly young, once we had gone out for the day, and came home later then usual expecting them and Sneakers to be hollaring for their dinner. Everything was silent, but oh what  a mess, someone, I suspect Tigger, got supper out on his own, the treat boxes were chewed through and mostly empty, and the big plastic hard rubbermaid container, just filled with Iams dry food, was chewed through and half of it was empty. They were all lying around the living room with hard rounded bellies, we call the vet in a panic and were instructed to pick up all water and give no water til the next morning, and then just put it down for a small drink and then pick it up again. (Dry food expands when water added and they already had hard stomachs) He said if any of them had trouble breathing call him and he would meet us at the office.  Thankfully they were all fine.

I put a kiddie lock on the food pantry the next day. And we still keep it secured.
