I use precious cat. About $8 for 20lbs. It is low dust (which I am always careful with because I have very very bad asthma) and clumps great. The only problem I have is the tracking. It does track a lot, which can be annoying because we have a box in our bathroom. I usually sweep up the litter before getting in the shower, but 9 times out of 10, someone uses the litter while I'm in there, and tracks in all over the bath mat! Nothing like kitty litter stuck to the bottom of nice clean feet! LOL!

This idea might not work for everyone, but I was thinking--what about taking the litterbox outside on a windy day and changing the litter there? or if no wind, maybe setup a fan on high to blow the dust away? Just stand upwind from the litter so the dust doesn't blow on you.

Here in California, we can't flush our cat litter--it harms sea life, especially the sea lion population. And we have enough crap fouling the oceans as it is.

Some cats are more special than others.

I've just begun using FreshAire, which is a combination of natural clay and pine. The new FreshAire also has cedar, which I find wonderful. I am allergic to perfumes and fragrances, chemicals, etc. This litter clumps very well and is all natural, which is important to me. I buy it at Petsmart for $12/20lb.

Be Careful of this litter!!!!

I was drawn in by the exact reasons you are using it. It was also the reason I started this thread, I thought I found this great new litter.

It started out great and with-in a few weeks turned out to be costly for my kitties health.

I hope it works better for you than it did me.
