| I have several cats of my own, all spay/neut., that go inside and outside. One evening, a cat showed up on my deck. I haven't seen this one roam the neighborhood. It was very friendly and I kind of assume it is/was someone's house cat. It was rubbing on my leg and wanted to go in the house. Looong story short, any suggestions on where to take it? I don't want to take it to the humane society. I know they will destroy her if not adopted. How do I find a no-kill shelter? Does someone have a website or help point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help.

| If she's that friendly, I'm sure she is/was someone's pet and may have gotten lost. Before you try to take her anywhere, can you post some flyers in the neighborhood to let folks know you've found this cat? If you can't find the owner and can't give her a home yourself, check with some of the vets around - sometimes they can help. Or go to your local PetSmart or PetCo on weekends, many of them offer space to shelter groups for adoptions and you may be able to find a shelter group that would take her.

Don't go running off with the cat until you know absolutely, positively that she is not someones beloved pet! Bless you for being ready to jump to the aid of an animal in need. If she does turn out to be abandoned or stray it sounds like she picked the right person to turn to! You could go ahead and find out about any cat rescues in your area. Then you'll know exactly where to go if she, or any other cat, needs help.
CricketYou don't have to be crazy to be my friend, but it helps!!!

After checking around, etc. Noone claimed her. Just this past Sunday, we gave her to a friend who is absolutely LOVING her. I'm glad it all worked out and thanks for your feedback.

| I forgot to share her picture. This is right before we took her to her new home. For now, we called her, Miss Kitty.

Miss Kitty is very pretty, thanks for giving her a good home.

"The really great thing about cats is their endless variety. One can pick a cat to fit any kind of decor, color scheme, income, personality, mood. But under the fur, whatever color it may be, there still lies, essentially unchanged, one of the world's free souls." Eric Gurnery
