Okay, we have 2 cats, Jack and Forrest. Jack is a sloppy pig (ehe) so he's perfectly fine using the littler box. But Forrest is to cool for that. He will poop (and sometimes pee too) in the LB but usually he'll go somewhere else in the bathroom. The master bathroom has the LB in it and that's the only room he goes in. He will pee on towels or clothes that some one has left on the floor, or he will claw it down from the bathtub sides, or even the shower side, and pee on it. He'll sometimes pee on clothes too. But he ONLY pees in the bathroom his LB is in. (once he peed in my mom's purse. It was so funny! ) He used to pee in the cabinets too but some tin foil stopped that. Their Lb is large and roomy but has a cover on it. We only have one (bad idea i know) but even when we JUST cleaned it he pees on a towel! We We use either freshstep or Tidycats, and he pees either way. ARGARGARG! it it because of the hood? The old one had a hood but it had a window too and he stuck his head out for fresh air. Is it because there is not enough room or we don't clean it often enough? Is it like a territorial thing? Is it because we don't have enough litterr boxe for our two kitties? Is it because he doesn't like litter? which would be weird cuz he poops in the box always. PLEASE HELP!

There should be at least three litter boxes for two cats. My younger old is a piglet too while the older one is a neat girl. She has an urinary tract infection now so she is on antibiotics. I did have a male cat years ago who developed a tract infection and I caught it very early so he had few complications because it is deadly. I don't like the hood one because you don't see how they are doing. Cleaning the litter often allows you to see any difficulty with the going. I also have a nice cat water feeder now so cats get enough fluid so they are less likely to have a litter problem.
Feeding them can food also helps. They need a lot of liquids to stay heathy.
The female cat started going in the bath tub because the male would hang out at the litter boxes so I placed a litter box in another area. He can't hang in three places.
Who said "Cats are easy."? At least, I don't have to walk them with a plastic bag in my hand........Bamcat

Another reason for multiple boxes, some cats need to poop and pee in different places. But health issues need to be ruled out first.
CricketYou don't have to be crazy to be my friend, but it helps!!!

| Get at least 1 more litter box and put it in a different area than the other one. Also you could try using Cat Attract litter. I work at a pet store and customers tell me it really works. staffordmom

Tell us how that goes, I know it can be done but I don't know how.

"The really great thing about cats is their endless variety. One can pick a cat to fit any kind of decor, color scheme, income, personality, mood. But under the fur, whatever color it may be, there still lies, essentially unchanged, one of the world's free souls." Eric Gurnery

I hope that toilet isn't for people. Cats like to scratch and bury their waste, water sounds might also stress them out. I would use a litter box over that any day, but it sounds exotic.

| lol, I got a book about it, and it seems so easy if you are very careful. It also had litter tips, although the author disagrees with litter. My sisters thought the idea disgusting, but it is more sanitary than a litter box. It's not like the cat is going on the rim! And that means no smell too. My cats are very adaptable, so it should be easy (if clumsy Jack doesn't end up falling in the toilet ) As for training, we have one bathroom no one uses that I can use for training. yay!

I agree with you, we have 1 cat and he has 2 boxes.
One upstairs and one downstairs.
