Most cases dogs/cats that are fed raw or healthy foods like Innova Evo WILL live longer because its species appropriate, some, though certainly not all dogs/cats seem to live to great ages in spite of what they are fed.

It happens to people too. the worlds oldest woman was not 112 she was much older, she quit smoking at like 98 or so, lived to 122 and could ride a bike at 100. Is this the norm NO! If it was, smoking would not have a surgeon gen warning on the box and would be perfectly legal for all ages. Most people who smoke heavy like this end up with cancer or some other nasty health problem, such as smokers cough at the very least by the time they hit their 40s or 50s

To further back my point, DIET is also as true for peoples it is for animals . there was a woman who lived to age 115, according to news reports she did nothing but stay in bed and eat bacon. Again this is the odd one out not the norm. Most people who do this end up with CHF (coronary heart failure) heart disease, or become morbidly obese.

Stress/along with elements such as cold and rain, is also an issue. Prehaps the feral had FIV or a disease of this manner. Was it fixed, as in spayed or neutered, fixed cats live longer, unspayed cats get cancer VERY often. was the feral receiving handouts? Most cat food ferals get outside of what they catch/take down themselves is the lowest of the low. its entirely possible it was on dry friskies and got cancer from the food just as is body was starting aging.

you cannot base just diet on an animal you see like this, your right.

Certain breeds of cats age slower than others. As with dogs, mixed breeds tend to live a bit longer because of less inbreeding and genetic issues.

But honestly, YOU are the ultimate deciding factor in how long your cat lives Keeping them on a good, all natural diet suited for their life stage (I don't consider cats seniors until 13+), giving them sunlight to keep their vitamin D levels up (SO important!!), and keeping them active will drastically increase their quality of life, as well as length.

There's a book out there about how to naturally take care of your cat and they actually have certain foods listed that are said to increase your cats longevity such as goji berries and olive oil. I don't remember what it's called, but it's a fairly good sized book with a siamese on the cover. Holistic Cat Care maybe?

Good luck, and I would for sure check out that book if you can!!
