Hello everyone.
I have posted once before about our Einstein's Medical issues.
WE took him to the Vet again yesterday, but , we now can pinpoint the problem more in dept.
Einstein was a perfectly healthy cat when we adopted him from the shelter.
WEll, he has Herpes, that used to flair up on his eyes, but now with treatment, we had no more issues.
Then we got new neighbors, and their 3 cats.
The cats are outside, ok, we have a few neighbors who have outside cats, that stay within their perimiter, not wonder off and become other peoples problem.
These cats, hang out at my door, around my house, and because of that, Einstein being a indoor cat, he developed issues with overgrooming , because these cats are on his territory.
And he is stuck inside .
It drives him insane.
He has autoimmune, so we do not let him go outside, it would be detrimental to his health.
It is so bad now, that he grooms himself raw, no more skin on his behind, legs he digs in with his paws, and he leaves marks on his body.
So yesterday he got another antibiotic shot, we got him Feli-away a calming dispenser that you plug in and it dispenses pheromones to keep him calm.
Also we got a spray that we used outside the door and driveway and the brick of the house to keep the other cats away, so his condition does not get worse.
To no prevail, that one particular cat still sits outside the door, cries, and drives Einstein insane.
WE are a quiet and upstanding neigborhood, these people are like a Jerry Springer show, going thru a break-up, the kids are not at home, that cats are now kicked out, because she is pregnant, the dogs live outside in the rain.
I have had it.
We spend an exuberant amount of money on Einstein every month to get him better, but it does not good , if those cats do not go away.
My husband is going to talk to them 1 more time, if this does not help, the cats are going away.
I have to think of our Einstein, who is suffering, on meds,we are done.
These cats are not my responsibility.
Einstein is, and , their cats are costing me money, mainly EInstein's medical issues.
the one that will not leave my property is a long haired cat, looks like a Himalayan, beautiful cat, he does not belong outside he needs a good home.
The other one is pregnant again, so they kicked her out, the other one , we nicknamed *Boots*, because he has white paws is also a very sweet cat.
what would you guys do in our situation?
Einstein is been suffering since these cats started coming around.
All the other neighbors who have outside cats take care of them, they do not come around and bother other people, because they are loved and fed .
WE are just fed up.
Dogs think their human, Cats know they are .

| I think you are taking the wrong approach. First step: RELAX Einstein ought to be able to get along quite well with his feline friends coming over to visit. Indeed, these other cats are probably coming over just to visit him. His excessive grooming might have a few other causes - one of them being your own agitation. These other cats need better humans. Perhaps they can be vaccinated - then allowed to socialize with Einstein? My indoor cats never had a problem sharing their yard with what became a thriving feral colony. Heck, I'd even go so far as to put shelters, perches and food out to welcome these cats. I'd get a leash and harness, and take Einstein out into the yard - and let the cats approach each other. Cats are far more 'social' than most folks realize, and really enjoy the company of their own kind. Another possibility is that - are you ready for this? - Einstein might actually be lonely. Now, this can get tricky, if the 'friends' he misses are not cats or people, but something else (like dogs). It sounds silly, but it's quite possible.

we thought that at first too, but it is not the case.
The more he sees them, the more he grooms, and the more fur he looses.
He already has a compromised immunsystem, that with the next door cats is making it worse.
I do not have the money to take care of 3 extra cats and one of them being pregnant.
Einsteins medical problems are costing us a fortune every other month.
Like 3 different vets said, the other cats are stressing him out to the point tht he is so excessively grooming himself, that he has sore spots .
We do not even know, if those cats have there shots, have worms, or other issues.
And they are not my problem.
I have enough to do with keeping Einstein healthy, he is our #1 priority.
we need to get him back to normal, with hair on his behind and legs.
No more scratching, biting himself.
After all that, which will take some time , without constant meds and shots , we all can breath easier.
WE just need to get those cats away from our property.
No other neighbors cats do that.

I believe there are water sprinklers that work with a motion detector. If you set one or more of them up along the edge of your yard where your neighbor's cats come in, that may be all you need to deter the cats from entering your yard.

| Call the humane society or animal control. Explain your situation, that the cats are being a nuisance, and have animal control/the humane society handle those boorish people. If they aren't fitting in with the neighborhood, they have two choices--fit in, or leave. So what if they complain they just moved there and don't want to move again so soon? Cry me a river! If they want to live in the neighborhood, they have to learn to get along with their neighbors--after all, you were there first. And they're having a baby? OMG, that poor kid! And I thought my family was bad! People should be made to grow up before they have kids. And it sounds as if these losers haven't even reached the potty training stage in their development!

I really feel for you. Have you tried taking catnip spray and spraying a little on your hand and wiping it on Einstein? This may help calm him down. Also, feliway has a spray that you could do similar with.
Otherwise, yes, I think calling animal control would be best. If these animals are as friendly as you say, they shouldn't have too much trouble finding homes- especially if it's a no kill shelter they are taken to.

you are soooo right, well , I tried to talk to her about the situation, and she keeps changing the subject.
Like she does not want to hear it, I made it very clear, today , the dogs are put up, we have not seen them.
The cats are still at and around my house.

I know you are frustrated but it is not those poor cats fault that they are in their situation. Cats are smart and have an uncanny way of seeking out people to take care of them. They sense "cat people". I would take them to a no kill shelter-especially the pregnant one. There they would be spayed, have all the vet care they need and be fed. It would be the best situation for them.
Life without cats is boring! My family pictures http://cu.morningjournalnews.com/pages/user_detail.php?user=144341

Oh I know it is not the cats fault, we know that, but it is not my responsibility to take care of them, with my husband being laid off, we have enough to do, getting Einstein his medical care every 2 month.
WE also have the Dogs, and 4 Kids living at home.
WE are in a totaly different financial situation , unfortunatly, so I talked to her again, and if I see them again, not taking care of and they will be gone to either a good home or shelter.
