Two weeks ago from Friday, Giita had her first kitten. When she was in heat, I can only assume she snuck out and got knocked up by the nieghborhood black tom cat..
Anyways, so she had only one kitten.
Sometime this week, Giita started carrying her around my room. Mainly just in to my closet. At first, every time she did that, I put the kitten back in the box I had for them. (There was a towl so it wasn't that uncomfertable for the kitten.) Eventually I just let Giita keep her in my closet.
Friday I came home and couldn't find my cat anywhere. I looked for hours.. I asked my brother to help me.. I looked in my dogs kennel under the cage, and saw the baby kitten in there with them.. It looked wet, that's all I noticed. I freaked out and asked my brother if that was the kitten in there, and he opened up the kennel and just said "oh no." I went to my room and cried. (Our dogs are chihuahuas. We have 3, but I believe it was our dominant male dog who played with her too rough. She was only 2 weeks.)
Though I'm not sure, it's possible the dogs got in to my room and crabbed her from there.. Usually they are not allowed to run around the house, that is why we have a kennel inside. I wasn't home so I don't know what happened.
I'm so sad that I lost my baby's only baby. And I'm worried about her too. I went out and bought her some special cat food, but she threw it up, I don't know if it's cuz it didn't hit well with her stumache or what.
What should I do? Does Giita want another kitten? Should I try to get her another one? What should I do for Giita?
Thanks.

Giita will look for the kitten for days and will cry for it. The best thing to do is when Giita's milk has dried up is to get her spayed, so this doesn't happen again. And if you think that Giita really wants a kitten then go to a shelter and save a life.

"The really great thing about cats is their endless variety. One can pick a cat to fit any kind of decor, color scheme, income, personality, mood. But under the fur, whatever color it may be, there still lies, essentially unchanged, one of the world's free souls." Eric Gurnery

Well of course I don't want this to happen again.. But getting her fixed isn't the answer. I mean, it's not like the kitten was born too early or sick, or with any problems... Accidents happen.
It's breaking my heart to come home to her meowing and crying. I don't know at all.. I just think she wants a kitten, I just don't know for sure though.
I want to help her!

| Alliebird - MiniBeast is giving you good advice here. No, having her spayed won't help her get over her grief over her kitten. Time will. And yes, I believe that cats do grieve! But having her spayed will prevent this from happening again. It will also prevent any more accidental pregnancies resulting in kittens for whom you'll need to find good homes, it will make her less likely to "sneak out" as you indicated she had, it will reduce her risk of developing breast cancer, and it will eliminate her risk of developing pyometra, a serious and potentially fatal infection. Is there some reason that you want her to continue to have kittens?

Oh, I'm so sorry about your little baby. Poor Giita, she will mourn for her baby just like you will. She will meow and call out for her to try and bring her home and yes it will break your heart hearing it. Just try and spend time with her, go to her when she meows and comfort her, she will get better like you will. It will take time but help her through it.
I find one of the best things to do is show them their friend when they pass away that why they understand whats going on. I know it sounds awful but it really helps them, so then they aren't always looking for them.
I am sorry though I hope you are both feeling better soon. Oh and the throwing up was probably from being so upset with everything. After my little guy passed away my other cat and dog both throw up.

First off I'm sorry abut the kitten, but do both yourself, her and the new ones to be a favor and stop it from happening again.
However you are lucky in a way. that there was only 1 kitten born and not 6 or 7.
Also unless you plan on breaking the local city laws/ risking fines, imprisonment and becoming a cat hoarder you CANNOT and I repeat CANNOT stop terrible things from possibly happening to them in their new homes, Such as de clawing.
Go to www.StopDeclaw.com
or abandonment, or euthanasia when people get tired of them, mom, dad tired of " The cat for the kids" Or being fed to a exotic reptile, or used in an occult rite to honor Satin/witchcraft. Or hit by a car, or Blood training vicious fighting dogs.
Or they could just die slowly and quite horribly from cheap pet food, kidney problems, dental disease, weight problems, ect.
Also keep in mind by spaying her you are helping her live a longer happier life. She doesn't need a love life or rearing young. Cat sex is basically borderline to outright rape, molestation, not something from a romance novel.
