I know I love working with cats and I don't have the heart/stomach to practice medicine so I am very interested in cat behavior/psychology. I love advising pet parents how to better care for their animals.

Where can I find work relating to this field? I know I probably need to go back to school for a masters or something but even then, what work can I do? Is private consulting my only option?? What can I do in the meantime in this field?

Cat Fancy editor Susan Logan wrote a blog entry about careers with cats. http://www.catchannel.com/cat-blog/Editorial-127.aspx

Also, there was an article in the August 2008 issue of Cat Fancy about cat careers. http://www.catchannel.com/Magazines/CatFancy/august-2008/get-your-dream-job.aspx

You might also want to write in a letter to the CatChannel Behaviorist, Marilyn Krieger. I'm sure she's be happy to give you some ideas on how to get started. http://www.catchannel.com/behavior/marilyn-krieger-biography.aspx

You can also check out the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians or the Animal Behavior College (ABC)
