If a cat's is fed more than two small meals a day, they normally get fat. Our cats each have their own food bowl that we bring out during mealtimes, and they each get the proper portion that they need to stay at a good weight.

Right now my cats have the bowl down at all times. But that will change when Leo gets more meat on his bones because Coco and Sadie are getting chubby.

That is pretty much what we do too - except that it's one 3-oz. can split three ways each morning & evening.  Nobody's gaining weight and nobody's getting fat.

Both cats are on UR food. They get half a can in the morning and half a can at night. Sometimes, I give them the dry food instead but wet food is the best because they get their water intake. I worry about water as they get older. I don't want to have to give it to them by IV. They like both foods.

All of my cats get 1/4 cup of food 2 times a day. Aster gets 1/8 can of canned food to take his meds in and 1/8 cup of dry food 2 times a day.

Our cats have a "feeder", meaning their food is there at all times.

When I have Puck and Blackjack, they get feed dry food twice a day and wet food for a bedtime tide over until morning. Right now though I don't have them. They are in Portland, OR and I am in Pullman WA. I will have them by April of next year. I can't wait.
