| Yesterday I got a call from the lady who adopted Oliver. She unfortunately had to return him because she is in a very bad financial situation. She's had her car repoed and is about 1 1/2 months behind on rent. Her grand parents are her land lords but are not what you would call 'understanding' about her situation. They have threatened to kick her out at the end of December if she can't pay anything by the end of this month. I told her that I would hold Oliver for 30 days for her. If she wasn't able to get back on track, I would put him up for adoption again. She was so thankful I offerend to keep him for her for a while. She may have to move in with her mom, who already has 3 cats. She is trying really hard to convince her mom to let her keep her first cat, Stormy, whom her 3 year old son is really attached to. Mom's not sure yet. Poor Oliver was so upset and confused when he came back. He was whinning and slept by me all night. He's eating okay right now- I will have to keep an eye on that- so we'll see if he gets his appetite back. So, if you could send up some prayers for Oliver and Stormy's Mommy that way she can get back on her feet and be able to reunite with her kitty again! Thanks!

| It is so sad and unfair to have to give up your precious kitties just when you need their comfort the most. I will say a prayer for Oliver's mom and I hope things work out for her.

Poor Oliver! I hope his mommy gets into a better situation soon so that Oliver can go back home. You have my prayers.

| Jeez, and I thought my family sucked--grandparents tossing their grandkids out on the street just because of a bad economy. Don't they remember the Great Depression? And the worst part of it is, it's not even the kitty's fault--they're the innocent victims. I'm afraid this story is repeating itself all over the country. The so-called experts can say we're in a recovery all they want, but unless you've been living in a cave, recovery is a long way off. Do you happen to know if these are her mother's parents or her father's that are her landlords? They must be senile to think she can get a job and be able to pay her rent on time, etc.. They sound worse than my stupid sister. She can't be told anything, either.

They are her Mom's parents. I guess they are being so hard on her because her Mom lived in that apartment for 10 years rent free, and Tiffany said they told her they are fed up with people bumming off of them. It is a really sad situation. Oliver is settling back in. Pixie keeps flirting with him; I keep teasing them saying "Pixie's got a boyfriend...Oliver's got a Girlfriend!" LOL!

| That's awful about her maternal grandparents. When mom and I were living back east with her parents, I think mom had to get really persistent to get them to accept rent from her. My grandparents had a small house down their yard that they rented out, and after mom graduated from high school, she rented it from grandma and grandpa. No problem taking rent then. The grandparents' attitude stinks. If they wanted their daughter to pay rent, they should've said so. Anyway, I shouldn't pass judgment on people I don't know. I'm trying to shake the bad habits of mom's that got stuck on me. When we went back east, my grandparents and mom's sisters couldn't believe how much mom had changed since she and dad divorced back in the mid 70s. Both one of my aunts and my grandma told me they were so shocked at how negative mom was. I asked my aunt what mom was like when she was growing up, and was told she was a funny, playful, upbeat person. Totally the opposite later. Really bad the 6 years I lived with her until her death. Very critical and intolerant, especially towards me.

Vettechgirl- I feel for this potential cat moms' situtation but at least she did the right thing by calling you back instead of letting the kitten out on it's own.
