My kittens love their laser, shoe laces, and crumbled up paper balls. Anything (that isn't harmful) could be a fun cat toy.

Guess you guys are not gonna have to worry about me fixing the kitten anymore....
So I went to my friends house yesterday and fell in love with this tabby 6 week old kitten which I was supossed to take home today so she could get deparasited and checked. So the other five kittens where also accomodated that same evening, happy for all right??
Turns out I drove by my friends place today after college, well the kitten died, turns out an stray cat managed to sneak inside the house and killed 2 kittens, among which was my own, my guess it was a male on heat.
I know it was a lil early to take the kittens away from momma cat, but my friend is moving to a deparment near college and the wont allow animals (actually momma cat is going back to his parents), he offered me to take one of the surviving 3, he would told the future owners that that kitten was killed aswell, but I refused for two reasons:
1. I could not do that even to a stranger, whichever kitten I chose was already on someone elses heart.
2. I really liked that tabby.
Guess Im gonna wait a few weeks and see what pops up on the local ads for now, as there are only 3 year old and older cats in there (not that i hate them, but i want to actually raise them from kits to cats, LOL). Anyways thank you all for your responses.

So im I right about the possibility of the responsible being a male in heat? makes me rethink about this whole not spaying thing. Tough Im still gonna get ona kitten as soon as it pops up on ads. I jut have one question which in more playful and develops a better relationship with people a male or a female kitten?
Talked to my vet (took doggies to vaccination) and he says he more than occasionaly gets litters of kittens people either find on the streets or dont want, so he agreed to talk to me as soon as a kitten gets to his place. Just wondering, he says he cant keep them too long on his clinic, so no mather the age they all go 3 days after they arrive, as his clinic doesnt have the funds to take care of "unpaid" pets, he just applies basic vaccines, bathes and checks them (for free!) before giving them out, so usually they are around 8 weeks old at most, is it a good idea to take a kitten so young?

It could be a unneutered male, males don't go into heat only females, the reason he would kill the kittens is so the female would go into heat again so he could mate with her. Gender in cats doesn't make one friendlier than the other, it has to do with personality. Both male and females can be cuddle bugs or independent. 8 weeks old is a little young, and anything before 8 weeks will need kmr for a week or two, but if the kitten came without momma cat then there is nothing you can do.

Gosh I am sorry about the kittens that got killed. Maybe try to talk to these owners and tell them 1) fix their cat and 2) watch who is coming thru the cat door. As you started your search for a new kitten you found that there are scores of kittens available and a limited amt of homes for them. Good luck!
