Hi all,

In the November issue of Cat Fancy there was a letter to editor that talked about l-lysine cat treats for cats with FHV. The treats are from Vetoquinol. I haven't been able to find anything about where to get the treats.

The letter referred to the September issue and "Help for FHV" in Health News. Can anyone provide me with the info from that article? Thanks.

Mark

Hi Mark,

I haven't heard of those treats, but I expect they'd be ridiculously and needlessly expensive. You can buy L-lysine anywhere vitamins are sold. Buy the 500 mg tablets. Each day, crush a tablet and mix it into some canned cat food for your cat. It's very helpful for cats with herpes eye infections.

Laurie, I do give my cat lysine - I usually buy the capsules and open them up and mix with her wet food. But sometimes she turns her nose up at her wet food. She does, however, love her cat treats, so I thought it might be an alternative 'delivery system'.
