I bought some Feliway on Friday and it seems to be making a difference in Courage's attitude towards his new baby sister. By Saturday afternoon, he would walk by her door, hiss a couple times and keep going. Saturday night, I put Courage's harness on him and walked him around to the front door, where he could see Cinder with a screen between them. I figured that would be the best way for him to see her since going for a walk is Courage's favorite thing to do, plus safety of the screen between them. He hissed at her of course, then started eating grass - didn't puff up or try to strike her. Today, we left the screen off the bathroom door and Courage started playing with her paws when she stuck them under the door. If she wasn't near the door, he would stick his paw under the door and leave it there until she noticed him and started playing.

A few minutes ago, I was bringing fresh food and water to Cinder and she darted out the door (she is fast!!!) right into Courage. I am so proud of my boy!!!!!! He was curious about her and didn't hiss at first, which brings me to a potential problem maybe you guys have an answer for.

He wa all fine and good with Cinder until she tried to nurse on him without bothering to say "Hi" first. I don't think Cinder was ready to leave her Mom when she was taken away because she loves to lick on anything that resembles soft fluffy fur.

There is so way to stop Cinder from nursing, the only helpful hint I can think of would be to direct her to nurse on appropriate things, maybe a blanket or something else soft.

Good Job...thanks for the post.  I'm on my way to the pet store to pick up Feliway.  I will try anything if it will help my cats integrate!  Right now there is stark terror on the part of the 6 year old & animated curiosity from the 1 year old!
